True Love

Okay, so today I'm trying something a little different. Since it's been impossible to find quiet time to film videos with the kids on Thanksgiving break, I've decided to do a pic tutorial for this card I made for Crafter's Companion. You guys let me know how you like it, okay?

So we begin this card by trimming down a panel of Pearl White Shimmering Cardstock to 4'' x 5 1/2''.

Center the panel to the right inside the Embossalicious Love Birds 6x6 Embossing Folder and run through your embossing machine.

Watercolor select areas inside the raised channels using Distress Inks or markers. Here I've used Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass, and Pumice Stone. Use minimal water and be careful not to overwork the paper.

Heat emboss your sentiment using Sentimenals All You Need Is Love and die cut with Die'sire Essentials Just The Ticket dies. Adhere ticket and flower to the bottom left of your panel.

Adhere panel to a standard 4 1/2'' x 5 1/2'' notecard flush with the right side using foam tape, leaving a slight border showing on the left.

And there you go! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Have an awesome day!

Gift Muffins To Go

Hi friends! Today I am sharing some extra fun products that are brand-new to Crafter's Companion. If you like to give the gift of baked goods for the holidays, or all throughout the year, you are going to LOVE the new Cupcake Range. For my project, I used the Single Cupcake Takeaway Box which I constructed with Construction Cardstock, which is really thick and durable and perfect for this project. It really held up to the task!

I dressed up my Apple Spice muffin with the Die'sire Classuques Butterfly Cupcake Wrapper and some Sky Blue Shimmering Cardstock, and added a few die cut Butterfly Cupcake Inserts for some added flair. These products are just so easy to use and really make your home baked goods truly gift-worthy! I hope you'll give them a try!

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans! Today I am super honored to be participating in Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. Today is Day 25! The big finale!

For my card I decided to break out Lawn Fawn's Winter Bunny. He is still one of my favorite holiday images and I think he is the perfect scale for this Tag You're It die. I think he looks fabulous with his scarf billowing out behind him!

If you've missed out on the first 24 days, you can start back at the
beginning HERE. There are a whole bunch of prizes and lots of ways to win, so do make sure to check out that Day 1 post. Click along through all the days to be knocked off your feet with inspiration. And don't forget to leave a comment right here as well for another opportunity to win!

Huge thanks to Tracey for inviting all the girls at Lawnscaping Challenges to participate! We had a blast!

The Best of Festive Seasons

Hey friends! Happy Thanksgiving eve! I'm sure you're elbow deep in feast preparations but I wanted to take a break from baking (pumpkin bread ... mmm!) and get this card posted. I've got so many Christmas cards done so far this year, and yet I still have so many to go! This time I'm using Barkley Christmas "Festive Fun" by Crafter's Companion. Isn't this a sweet image?

I've colored it with Spectrum Noir shades EB1, EB2, EB7, EB8, BG1, BG2, BG7, BG8, DG3, DG4, DR3, DR6, DR7, BT1, and BT2.

Fount those sweet little festive balls at Michael's this morning and thought I'd use them to dress up my photos! Hope you like them!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Celebrate The Season

Hello, happy Friday, everyone. We're counting down the days to the deadline for the Caring Hearts Card Drive so I'm still trying to crank out as many Christmas cards as I possibly can. Today's features this sweet mouse from the Makey Bakey Mice "Holly Jolly Christmas" stamp set by Crafter's Companion.

I haven't watercolored in a while, so I decided to pull out my Distress Markers. I used Barn Door, Fired Brick, Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss.

Hope you like it!

December 25 - Lawnscaping Challenge #94

Happy Monday! Welcome to Lawnscaping Challenge #94! Can you believe we are just SIX challenges away from our 100th challenge? So super exciting! Today's is all about the numbers. So often, we forget to use numbers on a card or project but they can really be an awesome, graphic addition and add a touch of unexpected flair to your design. I am SUPER stoked to see what you all come up with! I think this is going to be a really creative and fun one.

For my card, I wanted to continue with my holiday card making so December 25th was the obvious theme for me to go with. I started off by stamping my background with Deck The Halls in Memento Luxe inks, then die cut a few tags with the Tag You're It dies. I used the December sentiment from Say Cheese Too and the 25 from Quinns 123s. I finished off the card with a button snowflake threaded with Peppermint Lawn Trimmings and some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh

Please head on over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog to check out the other amazing design team samples and link up your number projects to play along.

HUGE, huge thanks to Lawn Fawn for sponsoring our challenge with a FREE stamp set of our winners choice. We love you, Lawn Fawn!

Joy To Creatures Great and Small

Hi friends! Hope you're having a peaceful Sunday. I'm about to head up to my craft room for a little afternoon play time, but before I go, I wanted to get this card posted. Remember in my 2014 Holiday Card Series #1, I stamped out all those extra WPlus9 Winter Woodland images using the rock and roll technique? Well this weekend, I decided to put them to good use on this card. I added papers from the Sleigh Bells Ring 6x6 by MME, which I am LOVING. Classic color palette with fun, graphic prints. I die cut them with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 1 and Stitched Duos 1 dies.

I specifically created this with the current Festive Friday #44 Challenge in mind, which is this great inspiration photo. There's still a few days to play along if you haven't already!

Season's Greetings Mice

Happy Friday, friends! We made it through another week. Man, this one was a bit of a doozy for me. How about you? I've been fighting a case of the flu and even lost my voice for a few days. No voice = no videos. But I hope I'm on the mend.

I did manage to squeeze in some crafty time yesterday though and I spent it coloring up this sweet Moonbeam Meadow "Christmas Kisses" image from Crafter's Companion. I used Spectrum Noir shades IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6, IG7, IG8, IG10, EB6, TN2, TN3, PP2, DG3, DG4, and DR3. Then I inked the background with Distress Inks in Olive Grove and Forest Moss. I flicked it with some water and gold shimmer spray to finish it off.

I chose the entire color scheme for the card based on the current Festive Friday Challenge #44. If you haven't played along yet, you definitely should!

Have a wonderful weekend! We're buried in snow! We set a record with 12.6 inches so far in the last 24 hours. Are you buried too?

A Very Fawny Holiday Week - Day 4

Welcome back! We're already at Day 4 of the Very Fawny Holiday Week, can you believe it? There's been so much inspiration, I've just been blown away by the talent of all these fabulous girls.
If you haven't been over to check it out, you MUST!

Today I'm sharing this cute little holiday card that I created using the Snow Day stamps, dies, and the petite paper pack. I wanted to keep it simple and sweet and let the patterned paper strip be my sentiment. I added some splatters and sequins and finished up with peppermint lawn trimmings

I hope you like it! Please go check out all the wonderful creations the other girls came up with, displayed on the Lawn Fawn blog. They're really incredible!

A Very Fawny Holiday - Day 2

Hi there! Welcome back to Day 2 of A Very Fawny Holiday Week at Lawn Fawn! If Day 1 knocked your socks off, you are going to LOVE Day 2! Once again, I have two special projects to share with you, beginning with this Paper Mug Favor. I have a video tutorial on an everyday version of this project already, and I just had to make a holiday themed version as well. This time I used the Peace Joy Love papers as my base and bottom layer tag cut from the Tag You're It dies, and the Love You A Latte stamp set to dress it all up. Peppermint Lawn Trimmings were the perfect finishing touch.

For my second project, I just had to use the cute little chipmunk from Joy To The Woods. I just love him! And those birch trees! Stunning. I cut my focal panel with the Stitched Journaling Card die and added snowdrifts with Stitched Hillside Borders. A couple strips of paper from the Peace Joy Love collection, a sentiment from Bows And Holly and Mistletoe Lawn Trimmings finishes off this card.

I hope you enjoyed my projects for Day 2 of A Very Fawny Holiday Week! Please stop by the Lawn Fawn blog to check out the other AMAZING projects and turn back in all week for as much inspiration as you can handle!

A Very Fawny Holiday Week - Day 1

Hey there, friends! I am super excited to be taking part in A Very Fawny Holiday Week where the Lawnscaping Challenges girls are teaming up with the Lawn Fawn design team girls to bring you LOADS of holiday inspiration! Make sure to tune in each day to have your socks knocked off! And did I mention, there's prizes?

Today I happen to have TWO projects featured on the Lawn Fawn blog, the first being this sweet cupcake topper featuring Winter Penguin. He's definitely the star of the show here, but I also used a number of dies including Circle StackablesScalloped Circle Stackables, and Stitched Hillside Borders.

For my second project today, I just HAD to use the narwhal from Critters In The Arctic. I just love him so much! I created an Aurora Borealis background with my Distress Inks, then added some icy glacier banks with the Stitched Hillside Borders. For my sentiment, I pulled out Joy To The Woods and embossed that along with snowflakes in Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder by Ranger.

This past Saturday my family and I went to visit the Carnegie Museum of Natural History Museum in Pittsburgh and one of my favorite parts was the Polar Life Exhibit where I saw this gorgeous little hand-carved ivory narwhal. It was just too sweet not to share.

Please head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog to check out all the other amazing Very Fawny Holiday Week samples created by the rest of the girls and don't forget to come back again tomorrow for Day 2! See you then!

Be Jolly - Holiday Card Series #5

Hey crafty friends! Today I'm here to share the next installment in my 2014 Holiday Card Series. Day #5 features this adorable Be Jollysnowman stamp and die set from Avery Elle. Isn't he a cutie?

To make him even more fun, I decided to pull out my Flower Soft, which I hadn't used in ages! It's funny how those things get set aside and forgotten about. I'm glad I remembered to pull it out today though. I think it makes him extra special. Watch the video and see if you agree. ;)

Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right corner to watch there in HD and please don't forget to comment, like, and subscribe! It truly means a lot.

I also wanted to mention that I made this card because I was inspired by the current AEIheartU Challenge #18 - Holiday. It's been my goal this month especially to participate in more challenges and interact more with all the other amazing crafters out there!

Also, this card will be going to the Caring Hearts Card Drive benefitting the elderly in nursing homes. Won't you consider making a few extra cards and blessing others with them this holiday season?

Ho Ho Ho!

Hi there! Or should I say, "ho, ho, ho!" :) Bringing you yet another Christmas card for the Caring Hearts Card Drive. Today I created a fun nighttime winter scene with Moonbeam Meadow "Santa's Delivery" by Crafter's Companion.

I wanted to go with some non-traditional colors so I colored him in with my Spectrum Noirs in shades: TB2, TB3, TB6, TB7, FS2, FS3, GG1, GG2, GG3, EB1, EB2, EB6, EB7, DR3, DR6, DR7, LY1, LY2, CT2, BT1, and BT2 to match my Authentique patterned papers.

To finish off the card I added some Crystal Stickles by Ranger here and there and everywhere that looked like it needed it! Ha!

I hope you enjoyed! Have a great day!

Merry & Bright - Holiday Card Series #4

Hey crafty friends! Can you believe it's already November 1st? Time to kick it in to high gear with those Christmas cards, if you ask me! Well, perhaps today I can inspire you with card #4 in my 2014 Holiday Card Series.

It all began with these adorable bunnies from Lawn Fawn's Snow Day Collection. I love them so much and just knew they had to be featured in my next video. I ended up combining elements from the entire collection -- stamps, dies, patterned paper -- the works! They all play so nicely together, don't they?

I hope you enjoy this little scene as much as I did while creating it. Once again, all the cards in this series benefit the Caring Hearts Card Drive. Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right corner to watch there in HD and please don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe! All those things mean so much! Have a fabulous day!
