Art Journal with Me #20 - Let Life Surprise You

Hey friends, I'm squeezing under the wire on the last day of the month to bring you my August Art Journal with Me video. This spread is completely inspired by my recent trip to Germany, where I collected so much ephemera from my travels that I actually created a hidden pocket within my spread to keep it all. All this was done in my favorite Square Watercolor Journal, which is such a great size to work in.

The star of this spread is the gorgeous patterned papers from the Stamperia Magic Forest 8x8 pad, which worked perfectly for this theme, as I visited the alps and a few castles along the way. I popped in a few photos into the video here and there where I could as I chatted about the journey. I also brought in some Iridescent GelatosStarry Colors, and even some Fairy Dust Stencil Paste for a bit of glimmer.

If you'd like to hang out and hear about our trip, come and join me! Grab a snack and a drink, or even some supplies and you can craft along with me as I create this fun spread inspired by Germany! Thanks so much for watching. Have a great day!

Strawberry Patch Pop-up - Lawn Fawnatics #155

Hey friends, it's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge, and this round is a fun one, because it is all about 3D! I created a pop-up box featuring the adorable mice from Berry Special. For some reason this has been a Strawberry Summer for me! I just can't get enough of them, whether it's in stamp or fruit form. I colored the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with their matching dies.

Next I die cut the Scalloped Box Card Pop-up from Ballet Slippers Cardstock, the inside tabs from Cilantro, and a sky piece for the back from Mermaid. I assembled the box using 1/4" Double-sided Tape after reinforcing all the folds with a Teflon Bone Folder. Then I added all my images to the tabs with fast drying liquid glue.

To decorate the outside of my box, I cut down some Fruit Salad 6x6 patterned paper and some Stitched Hillside Borders out of more Cilantro Cardstock and added additional images to the front and sides. I decided to leave the little wooden sign as my only sentiment for now, so I can add whatever I want when I'm ready to send this out and know the occasion that it will be for. I also left the back completely blank to write a message to the recipient.

If you'd like to see how this pop-up box came together, click below or watch on YouTube and don't forget to like and subscribe! I really hope you enjoy it! Also, please remember to stop by the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog to check out the rest of the design team's creations and to link up your own 3D projects to play along. We can't wait to see what you create!

Strawberry Basket Card

Hey friends! Earlier this week I posted another Plan a Card with Me video where I figured out the design, layout, and color palette of my next card. Today we are taking that concept and bringing it to completion, using the Hello Bluebird Strawberry Patch, and Sweet Strawberry stamp sets, along with the Berry Basket dies. I colored the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with their matching dies. Then I die cut all the Berry Basket elements from Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock and the basket from Peacock Cardstock.

I used Distress Oxide Inks to color in all of the berries and leaves. I went with Spun SugarKitsch FlamingoPicked Raspberry, and Festive Berries for the strawberries and Twisted CitronMowed Lawn, and Lucky Clover for the caps and leaves. For the background, I blended Salvaged Patina onto Spectrum Noir White Cardstock and stamped a sentiment at the top. Then I die cut the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame #2 from Ballet Slippers Cardstock and popped that up over top.

I adhered the background to a Mermaid card base and added my images and die cuts with a mix of foam tape and liquid glue. Then I finished with a few clear sequins and some Stardust Stickles. To see how this card came together, click below or watch here on YouTube. I really hope that you enjoy it! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sweet Bear Hugs Card

Hello, my friends! Today I have a beary sweet card to share (hee hee) using more of the brand new Hello Bluebird Summer Release. This card features the adorable Bear Family stamp set, which includes mama and papa bears and their little cubs. I colored the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with their matching dies.

For the background, I trimmed down two pieces of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock, one into a wide strip and one with the Grassy Knoll dies. Then I blended on Distress Oxide Inks, using Scattered Straw for the sky, and Bundled Sage for the grass. I also trimmed down two pieces of patterned paper from the Echo Park Our Baby 6x6 pad. The plaid I cut into two sections and the brown I trimmed out a narrow strip and a scalloped border using the Basic Borders.

Then I glued the background to the card base, popped the plaid patterned paper up with foam tape and added the brown pieces as a border along the edges. I die cut part of the sentiment from Ground Coffee Cardstock using our new Sweet Friend Words and white heat embossed the rest onto two strips. The images I popped up in the recessed area with foam tape, then finished with some Stardust Stickles.

Check out the video tutorial below, or find it here on my YouTube channel. I really hope you enjoy it!

Woodsy Birthday Card - Lawn Fawnatics #154

Hey friends, it's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge and this time we are taking it Into the Woods! My youngest son is an avid hunter and fisherman, so I knew I had to go masculine on this one. I combined images from Car CrittersCar Critters Christmas Add-onCar Critters Road Trip Add-on, and Merry Mice. I colored all the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I started with Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock and blended on Distress Oxides in Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. Then I used the Birch Tree Stencil to blend on Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness. To help the trees fade into the background I also blended over them with the Rustic Wilderness and used Ground Espresso on the edges.

Then I cut down some Noble Fir Cardstock with the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders and blended Rustic Wilderness on the top edge. I also die cut On the Road from Storm CloudSticky Note, and Dolphin Cardstock and blended on some Black Soot. I adhered everything with liquid glue and finished with an Everyday Sentiment Banner.

To see how this card came together, click below for the video tutorial or you can find it here on YouTube. I really hope you enjoy it! And don't forget to check out the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog to see the rest of the design team's inspiration and to link up your projects and play along. We can't wait to see what you create!
