Jawsome Birthday Card

Hey friends, I'm back today with a super fun boyish birthday card featuring the Avery Elle Jawsome Wishes stamp set. This one is especially perfect for those summer birthdays! I stamped these images in Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth White Cardstock, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies. All of the coloring was done to match my patterned paper from the Simple Stories Summer Lovin' 6x8 pad.

For the focal panel I die cut some MFT Sno Cone Cardstock with one of the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. Then I cut down more Lawn Fawn Cardstock in Blue JayPeacock, and Mermaid with the Stitched Wave Borders. I stamped a sentiment on the bottom one with Blue Jay Ink. I popped my focal panel up over the patterned paper, glued down my images, and added a few Clear Droplets for a finishing touch.

Art Journal with Me #7 - Take the Scenic Route

Hey friends, today I'm excited to bring you my July Art Journal with Me video! I had so much fun creating this one and reminiscing about a wonderful vacation I went on with my family this year. I created this spread in my Art Journal using papers from the Mintay Seaside Escape 6x6 pad and also incorporated a napkin I'd saved from a restaurant we ate at on vacation.

Mixed media collage is most definitely my style of art journaling, so I combined lots of other goodies on this one, including washi tapeantique manuscript paperwashi stickers, and other bits of ephemera. And of course I brought in my Stabilo Woody 3 in 1 Pencil Crayons for some color, and finished with Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers for my title.

If you enjoy long, chatty crafty sessions, this video is for you! Make yourself a nice cup of something delicious and maybe a snack and join me for a lovely time. I really hope you enjoy it!

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - July

Hey friends, it's Christy with the July edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! This month I'm playing with the adorable new set by Stacey Yacula, Happy Birthday Herd. I colored the images with Copics and trimmed them out to look like polaroids.

Next I wanted to highlight some patterned paper from the Happy Patterns 6x6. I trimmed them down with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 and also the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2. I adhered these to a Sno Cone card base, stamped my sentiment in two parts on the polaroids, and popped those up with foam tape. I finished with a sprinkle of clear sequins.

Berry Sweet Birthday Card - Lawn Fawnatics #129

Hey friends, welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This round we are having Fun with Food, so my card features the Strawberry Patch dies along with the flowers from Zesty Lemon. I started by cutting the strawberry tops out of Guava Cardstock and coloring them with Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink. Then I cut all the leaves from Cilantro and added Mowed Lawn and Lucky Clover. I layered the strawberry tops on top of Speckled Eggshell Cardstock to give the look of white seeds.

Then I cut another piece of Speckled Eggshell using the Quilted Heart Backdrop: Portrait and layered it over a Ballet Slippers card base. I white heat embossed part of the sentiment on Black Licorice Cardstock, and die cut the rest using Scripty Sweet. I arranged all of the card elements and glued them down, then finished with some Sparkling Clear Sequins filled with Stardust Stickles.

Creating Cards Using Pre-colored Images

Hello my friends! Have you ever found yourself with some leftover colored images and are stumped with how to create a card around them? If so, then today's video is for you! I keep a little dish on my desk for extra colored images, but I rarely get around to using them. Some of them have been in it for years! But I'd had enough of them sitting there, begging to be used, making me feel guilty. Lol. So I asked my YouTube viewers if they were interested in a video like this, and the overwhelming response was YES! It turns out many of you have a dish or container of leftover images like mine. Today I've got a process video, showing you in real time, start to finish, how I make each decision of which images to use, where they should go, what supplies to pair them with, etcetera. If you enjoy this one, let me know, and maybe I'll make it an ongoing series!

The first card I made was using leftover images from Hello Bluebird Best Days combined with some gifts from Christmas Is Coming. I also had a few leftover colored backgrounds, including a Pathway Background, that these images just seemed perfect for. I wanted this to be a birthday card, so I used a sentiment from Party on the Farm. The color palette was almost a complete match with the Doodlebug Designs Great Outdoors 6x6 pad, so I brought those in too, trimming things down with the Lawn Fawn Large and Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables.

The second card I made features the Avery Elle Astronauts, which I combined with Speech Bubbles to make it another birthday card. I had a leftover background that was meant to be a rainy day scene, but I decided it could work just as well for outer space. This one I matched with the MFT Stars and Stripes 6x6 pad to tie in their red, white, and blue space suits.

I really hope you guys enjoy the video and find it helpful! Click below or watch on YouTube and please, please don't forget to leave me a comment on how you liked it! I would really appreciate your feedback, so I know if this is something I should continue to do in the future. I still have a lot of images left over, and they're giving me the stink eye! Haha! Have a great day!

Little Mermaid Christmas in July Card - Lawn Fawnatics #128

Hello friends! Happy Independence Day to those of us in the United States! Today we're celebrating a different holiday though with our newest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge: Christmas in July! For this card, I wanted to incorporate the beachy, summery vibes I'm feeling right now, so I decided to do a Little Mermaid theme by combining images from Mermaid for You and Christmas Fishes. I colored them with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my background, I blended Distress Oxide Inks onto two panels of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. For the sea, I used Cracked PistachioLucky Clover, and Pine Needles. For the sand, Antique Linen, and Gathered Twigs. Then I splattered both with gold paint using the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. I die cut the sea with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and the Stitched Ripple Backdrop, and the sand with the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders.

I adhered the backgrounds to a Barn Red card base, then stamped a sentiment with Lobster Ink and trimmed that down with an Everyday Sentiment Banner. I glued my images onto the scene, and then to give it even more detail, stamped bubbles into the sea with Noble Fir Ink. Then to finish things off, I added a bit of sparkle with Stardust Stickles.

Sending Summer Sunshine Card

Hello my friends, today I'm back with a card for our latest Hello Bluebird Color Challenge. This one has a gorgeous summery color palette that reminded me of a day at the beach. For my card, I colored images from Beach Play with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies. I also colored up the By the Sea background to set my scene.

I trimmed the background down with a Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and added it to a Peacock card base. I stamped a sentiment in Plastic Flamingo Ink and trimmed it down with an Everyday Sentiment Banner. Then I finished it off with some White Gel Pen accents and a little Stardust Stickles.
