Apple Picking Interactive Card - Lawn Fawnatics Feature

Hey friends, today I'm over on the Lawn Fawnatics Blog with another card for our Change the Scene Challenge. This time I wanted to feature the adorable new Apple-solutely Awesome stamp set, which I combined with Berry Special and Butterfly Kisses. To change the scene I used the Let's Toast Pull Tab Add-on to make my card interactive so the little mouse pops out of the apple barrel! I'll have much more details in my post over there, so I hope you'll check it out!

Art Journal with Me #8 - Replace Fear with Curiosity

Hello friends, and welcome to my August Art Journal with Me video! This spread in my Art Journal features one of my favorite animals, the mighty elephant, using the Stamperia Savana 8x8 pad. I'm also chatting about the year that my husband and I spent in Cameroon, West Africa, sharing lots of little stories about our adventures during our time there, that I hope you will come and join me for!

For this mixed media spread, I also combine ticketswashi tapestickers, and other bits of ephemera. To add some more vibrant color, I pulled in my Stabilo Woody 3-in-1 Pencil Crayons, and added some Gold Stencil Paste through a Rainy Sky Stencil, to represent my husband's and my song. And I finished up the page with some Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers for my title, and a retro date stamp.

To see how this collage came together, click below or watch on YouTube. This is my eight ever art journal spread (one for each month of this year), so if you've missed any and would like to go back and watch, I have an entire Art Journal Playlist on my channel as well. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I enjoy creating! Thanks so much for visiting!

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - August

Hello friends, and welcome to the August edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! Today I'm thrilled to be sharing a card using the new Bookworm Bears stamp set. I love to read more than just about anything, so when I saw these cuties, I knew I had to create with them. I stamped the images in Extreme Black Hybrid Ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the focal panel, I cut a piece of Bristol using the Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX, and blended on some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. Then I stamped a sentiment on the bottom. I popped this up over some Party Time 6x6 patterned paper, choosing the horizontal stripes to resemble a stack of books. I adhered everything to a Sno Cone card base.

Mermaid Secret Scene Card - Lawn Fawnatics #131

Hello friends, and welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This time we are Changing the Scene with an interactive element. My card features a Porthole Frame that leads to a secret mermaid lagoon! I combined images from Mermaid for YouYou Are Sublime, and Fintastic Friends, colored them with Copic markers and trimmed them out with their matching dies.

The outside of the card is pretty simple, using Narwhal and Storm Cloud Cardstock. The inside is where the magic happens, starting with Distress Ink blending on Bristol Smooth Cardstock in Speckled EggEvergreen Bough, and Lucky Clover. I also stamped out a bunch of fish, and then filled my scene with the mermaids and their friends. And of course I needed lots of sparkle with this one using Stardust Stickles.

Mermaid Slimline Card - Hello Bluebird New Release Previews Day 3

Hello friends! Tonight is the night of the brand-new Hello Bluebird release! To tide you over until then (see what I did there? Mermaids? Tide? lol.) I've got a lovely slimline card featuring the gorgeous mermaids from Sea Friends. This is an oversize stamp set chock full of mermaids and all the ocean friends you could ask for. It's truly gorgeous! I colored my images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I blended Distress Inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. I used Salvaged PatinaPeacock Feathers, and Mermaid Lagoon for the sea. Then I used the bottom elements from the new Ocean Floor Slimline Scene. I blended the sand with Antique Linen and the rocks with Hickory Smoke. I also stamped a greeting from Sea Sentiments and trimmed it out with one of the Word Bubbles. And all mermaids need glitter, so I embellished with a little Stardust Stickles.

Hey friends, I'm back with Day 2 of previews for the Hello Bluebird New Release. Today I'm featuring the adorable critters from Oh Happy Day along with the confetti from Cake Time. I really wanted to try and create a dance party with these cuties! I colored the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I die cut a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock with the new Nesting Deckle A2. I blended on some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink and splattered it with Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. I also cut the number 5 using the new By the Numbers dies and blended on Peacock FeathersMermaid Lagoon, and Chipped Sapphire. Rainy Day Read - Hello Bluebird New Release Preview Day 1

Hello friends! Today is an exciting day, because it's when Day 1 of previews begin for the brand new Hello Bluebird release! I'm showcasing one of my most favorite sets, Page Turner. I adore reading-themed sets and this one is just about the cutest I've ever seen! I colored the images with Copic markers, creating a bold, floral design on that incredible arm chair (so fun to practice patterns on) and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I ink blended Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide Ink onto a panel of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. I splattered on some Liquid Stardust for a little shimmer, then added a Light Brown Woodgrain Cardstock floor, and a thin strip of Bristol for the baseboard. I stamped a sentiment at the top using Walnut Ink and adhered my images with liquid glue.

Happy Bee-Day Card - Hello Bluebird Color Challenge #4

Hello friends! Today I've got another colorful card for you for our current Color Challenge on the Hello Bluebird Blog. I just loved the warm, vibrant tones of this one, and my mind immediately went to a garden scene. I combined images from Bee Happy and Fairy Garden, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I used the MFT Cloud Stencil to create a sky on a panel of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. Then I created the grass at the bottom with the Drifts & Hills Stencil and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink. I added gold splatters with the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. I also stamped a sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and a bee trail in Narwhal Ink.

I created a Fake Tan card base and covered it in patterned paper from the Simple Stories Let's Get Crafty 6x8 pad. Then I cut the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame #3 out of some Poppin' Pink Cardstock and popped that up with foam tape over the focal panel. I adhered my images with more foam tape and finished with a little Stardust Stickles.

The Bears & The Bees Card - Lawn Fawnatics #130

Hello friends! Welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! Today we've got a fun card sketch for you to try. I love card sketches like this one because there are so many different ways to interpret them. For my card, I combined images from Den Sweet Den, Hive Five, A Bug DealReally High Five, and Jump for Joy. I colored them all with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the coordinating dies.

For the background, I took the Cloudy Stencil and blended Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink onto a panel of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock that I had cut down with the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables. Then I die cut a second piece using the Grassy Border to represent the lines at the bottom of the sketch, and blended on Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness. I added some splatter detail with gold Gansai Tambi Starry Colors from the top right to the bottom left following the sketch.

I made a card base of Sticky Note Cardstock and layered on some patterned papers from the Hive Five Kit after trimming them down with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. Then I popped the focal panel up with foam tape and adhered my images, also following the sketch. To finish things up, I added a bit of Sparkle Glaze.
