Boo Fun Oct 31

Happy Friday, everyone! Here in our house we are rounding out the first full week of school, and man am I exhausted! But I also feel like we're finally getting back into the swing of things, and I'm looking forward to my days off next week for a little crafty quiet time.

Until then, I did manage to eek out a few moments to myself this week to create a sneak peek for Crafter's Companion's upcoming, first-ever Halloween release. The minute I saw this Trick Or Treat image, I knew it was the one I wanted to use. These kiddos in costume are just too cute!

I paired it with some Doodlebug paper and colored it to match with my Spectrum Noir markers in shades: FS1, FS3, PP1, PP2, TN6, TN7, GB1, GB2, GB3, LV1, LV2, LV3, CG3, EB7, BG6, BG7, OR1, and OR2. I have another super fun idea using this set, so make sure to stop back to see it next week!

Have an awesome weekend!

Snow Much Fun

How is your weekend going so far? I hope you're enjoying it and finding a little time to yourself to get crafty. Tonight I'm sharing another sweet image from the new Party Paws Christmas line. This one is called Snow Much Fun and it was super fun to color with my Spectrum Noirs in shades BG1, BG2, BG6, BG8, DR3, DR5, DR6, LG3, LG5, JG1, BT1, and BT2.

I'm hoping to get a little more crafting done tomorrow evening. Who else has got a busy week ahead?

You're A Hoot - Lawnscaping Challenge #88

Hiya! Welcome to Lawnscaping Challenge #88! This round is all about texture, one of my most favorite things to add to a project! I can't wait to see how you guys run with this one! Our winner will receive a FREE stamp set of their choice, courtesy of the lovely folks at Lawn Fawn. And just in time for their new release!

For my project, I decided to do a sneak of some of those new goodies that will be releasing August 28th. I used the new Goodie Bag die, Sweater Weather paper (along with an older sheet of Into The Woods paper for the actual bag), and the You're A Hoot stamp set, which I was lucky enough to snatch up last Black Friday, but will now be available in their store to everyone. I also used some of the new wood veneer leaves and a leaf sequin from last year's fall release.

My texture is subtle, the pinked edge detail on the goodie bag, the embellishments and twine, the layered tags… also, that delicious dark chocolate Reece's Peanut Butter Cup, which I will confess I devoured while the photos were uploading. ;) But a goodie bag calls for some staging, don't you think?

Please head on over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog and check out the other amazing DT projects and link up your own to play along. I'll see you there!

Christmas Cuddles

Working on Christmas cards again. Do you have a pile started yet? I've got half a dozen or so so far, and if I keep up this rate, I should be in decent shape by the time December rolls around. :)

Today I'm sharing a sneak peek of the soon-to-be-released Party Paws Christmas by Crafter's Companion. This cute image is called "Christmas Cuddles" and is one of my favorites! I colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers in shades: BG1, BG2, BG6, BG8, DR3, DR5, DR6, LG3, LG5, JG1, and JG3. I also used Die'sire Decorative Dies "Scalloped Tags" dies and I have to say I'm in love! Such a fun way to do a focal panel.

Stay tuned for the full release of Party Paws Christmas! Have a great weekend!

Where The Anchor Drops - Guesting with Sweet Stamp Shop

Hey everyone! Today I am happy to reveal that I am one of the August guest designers for the Sweet Stamp Shop and I've got a fun watercolor card to share using my Distress Markers and two of the new August releases: Beach Bum and Sail Away Sayings.

And I've got a video tutorial as well, showing you how to get that lovely blend of surf and sky that leads the eye out past the horizon. Can't you almost hear the seagull's cry and the waves crash against the shore?

Make sure to check out these stamps and more at the Sweet Stamp Shop! And stay tuned for more upcoming projects using later this month featuring the August release.

Have an awesome day!

Pop Up Gift Card Holder

Alright! So yesterday I showed you guys the little pop up wallet-style gift card holder that I figured out by lots of trial and error. Today I'm bringing you the tried-and-tested version that I filmed on video for you all. This clever pop up mechanism that makes the gift card stand up when opened is really best showcased on video.

For this version, I stamped my focal image using SoufflĂ© the Duck from  Popcorn The Bear "Someone Special" and colored that in with my Spectrum Noirs in colors IB1, OR1, OR2, CT3, CT4, CG1, CG3, CG4, and BT1. Then I die cut that out with the Die'sire Essentials Ovals and Scalloped Ovals from Crafter's Companion.

I hope you enjoy the video! Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch there in HD, and please don't forget to thumbs-up, comment, and subscribe! All that you do means so much. Thanks so much for watching!

Bamboo For You - Gift Card Holder

Hello friends! Today I have a different project for you all. I was in the mood to make something other than a card, but I had no idea what. Searching around my craft room for inspiration, I came across a little wallet-style pop up gift card holder that my cousin Ashley made me a few years ago. I had no idea how she had made it, but I was suddenly determined to figure it out. ;)

After much trial and error (and wasted paper, I'm afraid) I finally got it. Since it was late at night and definitely a learning process, I did not film a video, but I also did not want to share this project until I knew a video would be forthcoming. Today I was able to film and edit that footage so you should have a tutorial by tomorrow morning. :) In the meantime, here's a look at the inside.

For my focal image, I used Party Paws "Flowers From Bamboo" colored in with my Spectrum Noirs in shades BG1, BG8, BG9, EB6, BP2, PL3, LY2, LY3, and BT1. I die cut it with the new Die'sire Essentials Ovals and Scalloped Ovals available at Crafter's Companion.

And by the way, here's my inspiration from my cousin Ashley, who is an awesome paper crafter.

Stay tuned for the video tomorrow!

Oh Happy Day - Lawnscaping Challenge #87

Hi there! Welcome to Lawnscaping Challenge #87: Back To School! This time we are all about your school-themed projects, whether it be cards for teachers, lunchbox notes, treat holders, anything you can think up, really!

For my card, I decided to make a little tongue-in-cheek watercolor card, expressing my joy that the kids will soon be back in school. Don't get me wrong, it's been a lovely summer, but I haven't had a minute to myself that I wasn't at work or at my weekly writers group, and I'm looking forward to a little time all to my lonesome to craft or even just to grocery shop without three boys in tow! ;)

I watercolored my images from Lawn Fawn's Hello Baby and Critters On The Farm stamp sets with Distress Inks and added a sentiment from Hello Sunshine. I added little backpacks to the duckies backs with a Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen.

Special thanks to Simon Says Stamp for sponsoring our challenge with a $25 gift certificate to the winner. Please stop by the Lawnscaping Challenge blog to check out the other amazing DT samples and link up your Back To School projects to play along.

Blossom Kitty

Hey there! Hope you're doing well this Friday, gearing up for another wonderful weekend. I can't believe that today is already August 1st, and the kids will be heading back to school in just a couple weeks. But before I get too far ahead of myself, let me introduce you to today's card.

I've got a bunch of fun, new product from Crafter's Companion on this baby. Starting with the new Die'sire Essentials Ovals and Scalloped Ovals that I used to accentuate my sentiment, from the just-released, Die'sire Sentimentals "Nature" set. I also used the Die'sire Decorative Dies "Leaf Swirl" to frame my sweet image from Strawberry Kisses "Flower Power."

I colored it in with my Spectrum Noirs in shades LG1, LG2, LG3, LG4, LG5, CR5, CR6, CR7, BG1, BG2, PP1, PP2, PP4, and TB1. I hope you like it!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
