Happy Birthday, Sweet Laurel!

Hey everybody!
Today I want to stop in and share a card
that I made for my sweet and lovely friend, Laurel!
It's her birthday today!

A bunch of us girls got together and decided
to do a birthday card blog hop for her.
Please visit Lynnette's blog
for the full list of participants and hop along!

And please don't forget to wish our sweet Laurel
a very happy birthday!

For my card I used products papers from Basic Grey,
a bit of May Arts lace, and two Lawn Fawn sets:
A Birdie Told Me and Check This Out.

I hope you like it.

Happy Birthday, Laurel!

Birthday Road Trip Craft Haul

Hey everyone!
I just have a quick haul video to share.
Sunday was my birthday so my husband took
me on a road trip to Fairlawn, OH
for some craft store shopping!

We went to Archiver's, Pat Catan's, Hobby Lobby
and Joann's, and capped off the day with dinner at
P.F. Chang's (YUM!) before we headed back home.

Also, on the way there we made an unexpected stop in
Willoughby Hills where my beloved great-grandparents lived
(totally unplanned -- I just needed to use the restroom
and asked him to pull off at the next exit)
and was able to visit the cemetery where they're buried
and see their headstone for the first time.
It was a special moment for me.

All and all just a completely fabulous day.
I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present!
Check out what I got below,
or click on the bottom right YouTube icon
to watch on YouTube in HD.
I also mention a giveaway I'm working on,
so please subscribe and stay tuned for that!

Have a great day!

Your Love Gives Us Wings Altered Art Canvas

Happy Friday, everyone!
Today is my dad's birthday, and in honor of that,
I wanted to share a project I made for him a while back.
Actually, for Father's Day.
I never got a chance to share it before the burglary,
and after it, I lost all the pictures I had uploaded onto my MacBook.
For some reason, I thought I'd taken the photos of it
with my camera, which was also stolen, but I recently
found them on my iPhone. Yay! :o)

This was an altered art canvas I made using book text
(which happened to be about bees, so what shows through
all coincides with the project),
I also stamped, doodled, painted, stenciled, and just had
lots of crazy, messy fun with it.

The bees were made using the fingerprints of my
husband, children and I, and our names are handwritten
beneath them for an added touch of whimsy.
Also, scrawled all along the sides (not pictured)
are words that remind each of us of my dad.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Hope you enjoyed it!

Papertrey Ink Haul

Hey girls!
Got a quick haul video for ya today.
I have been desperately needing some new
ink colors for MONTHS, and I kept going back
and forth between the Momento Dew Drops and the
Papertrey Ink Premium Dye Cubes and finally
decided to go with Papertrey because they were cheaper. :o)

Plus I've heard good things about their inks.

I also had been NEEDING a German sentiment set
for YEARS (seriously, YEARS! ;o) to use
when making cards for my husband's family back in Germany.

I picked up a few other things I'd been really wanting,
and also a little basket from Goodwill for storing my inks --
I altered it with spray paint -- stay tuned to the end
of the video and I'll show you a couple after shots.

Enjoy!

Lawnscaping Challenge #42

Hello everyone!
Happy Monday and welcome to Lawnscaping Challenge #42!

This super fun challenge is brought to us by the wonderful
folks at Lawn Fawn, who have generously donated a free
stamp set of the winner's choice as our prize! Thanks, Lawn Fawn!

Here's my card:

I used some fun texty Christmas papers from Jillibean Soup,
made a window with a sheet of sparkly print vellum,
and did a little paper-piecing with this cute snowman
and birdie stamps from Lawn Fawn's Making Frosty Friends.
Added some Papertrey Ink buttons for a little textural interest
and called it a day! Lol.

Hope you enjoyed it!

Please head on over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog
to see all the rest of the incredible design team samples
and find out more about how to play along.

We can't wait to see your texty projects!

Have a great day!

Halloween Deco Mesh Designs

Hey everyone!
I've been making a lot more deco mesh designs
at work, and I thought I'd share a few of them here.

We're getting ready for Halloween,
so here's a sweet witchy wreath I made
using tri-colored deco mesh, ribbons, spiders,
a plush witch, and sparkly black curly willow.

We ran out of orange deco mesh for a few days,
so I was trying to come up with something using the white.
I ended up with this cute mummy that got a LOT
of compliments and how-to requests!

Since the mummy went over so well,
I came up with the idea to try a Frankenstein.
I'm still trying to come up with something to use
for the bolts in his neck, but I ran out of time,
so I'll have to finish him up on Saturday.

I know this isn't my typical type of project
to share here, but I hope you enjoyed them anyway!

Have a great day!
