Fall Forest Birthday Card

Hey friends, welcome back! Today I want to share a fall-themed birthday card. Since my birthday is in the fall, I think it's fun to add some little season-specific details like colored leaves. To do that, I combined images from Cake Time and Leaf Play. I colored them to match patterned paper from the Simple Stories Full Bloom 6x8 pad and then trimmed them out with the matching dies.

I watercolored a background using Distress Oxide Inks on some Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. I used Speckled Egg and Salvaged Patina for the sky, and Cracked Pistachio and Mowed Lawn for the grass. Then I die cut two patterns of paper with the Gallery Frame #2 and popped that up with foam tape over an Apricot card base. I white heat embossed a sentiment from Party on the Farm onto Barn Red Cardstock, and used the Jane Small Alphas to die cut the rest out of Peacock Cardstock.

To finish off this card, I added some polkadots to the party hats with a white gel pen and a little Stardust Stickles. I also did some stamping on the inside, which you can check out in the video tutorial, which you can find below or watch on YouTube. I really hope you enjoy it! Thanks so much for visiting!

Art Journal with Me #9 - You Are Enough

Hey friends! Welcome to my September Art Journal with Me video! This month was really fun for me since it's my birth month so I had lots of fun things to chat about while I created this spread. I started with some papers from the Stamperia Forest 8x8, which was the very first paper pad I bought with art journaling in mind, back in December of last year. I've saved it for a special occasion because it features my favorite animal, the red squirrel. I was so happy to finally use it in my Art Journal.

I also included a bunch of different washi tapesephemera, and stickers, as well as a bookmark from one of the shops I visited on my birthday day trip to some bookstores. I brought out my Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens to add some rich color to the borders and my Stabilo Woodys 3-in-1 Pencil Crayons to add some green highlights to the center. Then I rubbed a bit of Inka Gold to the edges for some metallic shine, and splattered some Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. I finished with a Tim Holtz Small Talk title and a Retro Date Stamp.

So grab some supplies or a snack and come hang out and chat or craft along with me! I would love to hang out with you while we create something beautiful. I really hope you enjoy the video! Thanks so much for watching!

I Pick You Card - Lawn Fawnatics #133

Hey friends, happy Monday! And welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This round is all about Awesome Autumn, so of course I had to pull out the Apple-solutely Awesome stamp set again, for another apple-picking scene. My apple tree is bursting this year, and I'm so excited to live this out in real life very soon! For this card, I added in images from Berry SpecialA Creature Was Stirring, and Tea-rrific Day. I colored them all with Copics and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I first blended a piece of Bristol Cardstock with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink using the Cloudy Stencil for my sky. Then I die cut the Meadow Backdrop: Portrait out of more Bristol, masked off the top edges, and blended on Twisted CitronMowed Lawn, and Pine Needles Distress Oxide Ink. I popped that up with foam tape over the sky, and adhered my images, finishing with an Everyday Sentiment Banner and some Stardust Stickles.

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - September

Hey friends, today I'm excited to share with you the September edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! I just fell in love with the new Christmas Tree Farm stamp set by Stacey Yacula! It immediately put me in a festive mood, and I knew I had to use it. I stamped all the images out with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I cut down a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2, and another with the Stitched Slimline Snowdrifts, and blended on some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. I also splattered on some Gansai Tambi Starry Colors for a pearlized sheen. Then I stamped my sentiment at the bottom of the snow drift. I glued some Cheerful Plaid patterned paper to a Caribbean Sea card base, popped up my focal panel, and adhered my images. Then I finished with a sprinkle of clear sequins.

Rainbow Sparkles Card - Lawn Fawnatics #132

Hey friends, welcome to the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #132! This round we've got a gorgeous rainbow color inspiration photo for you, and I don't know about you, but my mind immediately went to craft supplies. I knew it was the perfect time to ink up the Lawn Fawn Just Add Glitter stamp set. I also added in a shelf from Purrfectly Wicked and a rug from Christmas Dreams. I colored all the images with Copic markers in rainbow colors and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

To create my craft room, I first took some patterned paper from the Flower Market 6x6. I went with a small gray floral print so it wouldn't be too distracting from all the rainbow elements. After all, we usually get gray skies before a rainbow! I also cut down some White Woodgrain Cardstock for the floor, and a thin strip of plain white cardstock for the baseboard. I adhered all of this to a Guava card base, and arranged my images in the scene as well.

For the sentiment, I used Finley's ABCs to die cut the word "sparkle" out of colored cardstock. I used RaspberryBarn RedFake TanSticky NoteCilantroPeacockBlue Jay, and Sugarplum. The rest of the sentiment I stamped in Jet Black Ink on white cardstock, and trimmed down with the Everyday Sentiment Banners. To finish things up, I added some Stardust Stickles.

To see how this card came together, click below or watch on YouTube, and don't forget to like and subscribe! Then you can head on over to the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the design team has created to inspire you. We hope you'll join in the rainbow fun!

Bookish Birthday Card

Hey friends, today I've got a really fun bookish birthday card for you, created for my cousin Ashley. It stars the Hello Bluebird Page Turner stamp set, combined with images from Cozy Christmas Eve and Cake Time. I colored the images with Copic markers, including doing curly hair for the first time in many, many years. I really like how it turned out though, and it's all included in the video tutorial in case you'd like to learn how I did it. After coloring, I trimmed the images out with their coordinating dies.

I chose a piece of patterned paper from the Simple Stories Let's Get Crafty 6x8 pad to be my wallpaper, and another that I paper-pieced onto the carpet. I also trimmed down a strip of Light Brown Woodgrain Cardstock for the floor, and a thin strip of Bristol Smooth Surface for the baseboard. Then I stamped a sentiment from Birthday Script onto a tag from Gallery Frame #4 and added a bit of Stardust Stickles to finish things off.

To see how this card came together, start to finish, click below or watch on YouTube, and don't forget to like it and subscribe to my channel! I'm so grateful for your support. Thanks so much for stopping by!
