Art Journal with Me #17 - I'm Happiest When I'm With You

Hey friends, it's that time of the month again! I've got another Art Journal with Me video. For May I'm talking all about my Mother's Day trip to Letchworth State Park, and using a map of the park to add some interest to the spread in my art journal. I combined that with some scenic rice paper, and patterned paper from the Stamperia Azulejos de SueƱo 8x8 pad.

I also added in lots of washi tapepostage stamp stickers, and other bits of ephemera. Then I gave it a boost of color using the Stabilo Woody 3-in-1 Pencil Crayons, and a splash of gold with the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. I finished with Tim Holtz Ideology Small Talk Stickers for my title, and of course, a Retro Date Stamp.

If you'd like to see how the pages came together, you can click below or watch on YouTube. The video is about 45 minutes, so you may want to grab a snack or some supplies and we can hang out together! I'm really looking forward to spending time together in this way. I hope you enjoy it!

Birthday Friends Card

Hey friends, today I'm excited a fun, travel-themed birthday card using the new I'm Glad We Fit In stamp set from My Favorite Things. I colored the images with Copic markers to match some patterned paper from the Carta Bella Here, There, and Everywhere 6x6 pad, then trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I die cut some Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 and used the Cloud Stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink to do the sky. Then I used the Drifts & Hills Stencil with Rustic Wilderness and Bundled Sage for the grass, and Hickory Smoke for the road. I stamped a sentiment from Presents & Pupcakes at the bottom and layered this panel over the patterned paper.

If you'd like to see how this scene came together, click below or watch here on YouTube. If you enjoy it, please go ahead and subscribe to my YouTube channel so you never miss a video. I post new ones every Monday and Friday. Thank you so much! Have a great day.

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - May

Hey friends, it's time for the May edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! The moment I saw the new Peaceful Birds by Stacey Yacula, I fell instantly in love. What a sweet set. I knew I had to use it for this month's card. I stamped the images in Extreme Black Hybrid Ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I used the Cloud Stencil and blended Spun Sugar and Saltwater Taffy Distress Inks onto the sky. Then I used Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness with the Drifts & Hills Stencil for the ground. I trimmed the panel down, stamped a sentiment across the top, and popped that up over a strip of Springing for Houndstooth 6x6 paper for a little extra color and pattern. I finished with a sprinkle of clear sequins and a little Stardust Stickles.

If you'd like to see how this card came together, you can click below, or find it on the My Favorite Things YouTube Channel. I really hope you enjoy it! If you do, please consider giving the video a like and leaving me a comment. I really appreciate your support. Have a wonderful day!

Spring Birdhouse Card - Lawn Fawnatics #149

Hey friends, it's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge, and this time it's Dies Only! Since it's Springtime, and I've been so enjoying the birds in the yard each morning, I decided to pull out the Magic Iris Birdhouse Add-on and combined it with some of the elements from the Scalloped Treat Box Spring Add-on and the Peekaboo Pop-up.

I used so many different colored cardstocks to build this scene, including MermaidDark Brown WoodgrainKraftWhiteDolphinNarwhalBallet SlippersGuavaRaspberryFake TanSticky NoteCilantro, and Noble Fir. I'll have all the particulars on which colors I used for which dies included in the video tutorial.

For the background, I trimmed down some Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and blended on some Distress Oxide Inks using the Cloudy Stencil. I also cut another piece down with the Grassy Border and stamped a sentiment at the bottom from Scripty Autumn Sentiments. I'll also show all the colors of Distress Oxide Ink I used in the video.

To check that out, you can click below or watch here on YouTube. I really hope you enjoy it! If you do, be sure to subscribe to my channel so you never miss a video. I so appreciate your support. Mama Elephant Card - Lawn Fawnatics #148

Hey friends, it's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This is a really fun one because we are creating cards inspired by other Lawn Fawn designers! There are so many incredible design team members to choose from, but I ended up going with a card by Marine Simon. Marine always comes up with the most fun and unique scenes, and this one is no exception!

Marine made her card using the Shutter Card die, cleverly omitting the center opening to give herself a larger canvas to work on. To make the card my own, I decided to shrink the design down to a standard A2 size card and change up a few things. I pulled together images from Elephant ParadeElephant Parade Add-onWild for YouToucan Do ItCritters in the Jungle and Chit Chat. I colored them all with Copic markers, switching to a warmer color palette, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I used the Cloudy Stencil to blend some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide onto a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. Then I cut down two more pieces using the Slimline Grassy Hillside Borders and blended on Twisted CitronMowed Lawn, and Lucky Clover. On the bottom one, I white heat embossed a Simply Fall Sentiments and popped that up with foam tape. Then added the images with a mix of foam tape and liquid glue. I finished with a little Stardust Stickles.

If you'd like to see how this card came together, you can click below or watch on YouTube. I really hope you enjoy it! Don't forget to check the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog to see the rest of the design team's Inspired By creations! We hope you'll play along too!
