Hey Gull Friend Card

Hello friends! Happy Monday! Today I wanted to squeeze in another summery card before the fall season begins. Even though fall is still almost a month away, once school starts, it always feels more like fall to me. But with this card, I'm hanging onto warmer temps, sea spray, and days at the beach. I combined the Heffy Doodle sets You Go Gull and A Little Shellfish. I colored them with Copics and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my background, I blended Distress Oxide Ink onto Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock in the colors Blueprint Sketch, and Tumbled Glass, with splatters of both, plus Chipped Sapphire. I trimmed that down with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and popped it up with foam tape over some Sunny Studio Summer Splash patterned paper, that I cut down with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables and adhered to my Mermaid card base. As a finishing touch, I added three Clear Droplets and an Everyday Sentiment Banner.

Storybook Farm Card - Sunny Studio Feature

Hey friends! Today I'm so excited for my first post over on the Sunny Studio blog! I'm featuring the new Little Buckaroos stamp set, which I combined with Farm Fresh and Harvest Mice. I colored the images with Copics, using a soft color palette and very simple and selective coloring on the background.

I also wanted this to be feminine and sweet, so I dolled it up using the Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace  and Fancy Frames Rectangles. I'll have more details over there, so I hope you'll check it out!

Gnome One Like You Card

Hey friends, happy Monday! Today I've got a fun card using the adorable new Hello Bluebird Next Door Gnomes. Aren't these little guys just so cute? I also added in a few images from Garden Party to fill out my scene. I stamped everything in Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink, colored them with Copics, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

Next I trimmed the Gallery Frame #5 out of some MFT Sno Cone Cardstock and cut the inner portion out of a sheet of Simple Stories Summer Farmhouse 6x8 patterned paper. I made my slimline card base out of Sno Cone as well, then trimmed down a piece of Lawn Fawn Noble Fir with the Slimline Stitched Hillside Borders for the grass. I popped the frame up on my card base with the grass border behind and added my images with a mix of Liquid Glue and Foam Tape.

Sunny Studio 5th Birthday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Sunny Studio 5th Birthday Hop! You should be coming here from Candice's Blog, but don't worry, if you get lost or are just popping in, I will have a full list of the hop participants at the end of this post.

I am so happy to celebrating this momentous occasion with them and also showcasing the new Fall/Winter Release! For my card I used the fun new Farm Fresh stamp set, which I absolutely love! I colored all my images with Copics and trimmed them out with the matching dies

To create my gorgeous morning sky, I used a sheet of the new Classic Sunburst 6x6 paper and centered that behind the tree. Then I took two more sheets from the Colorful Autumn 6x6 pack and layered the apple print over the green tone-on-tone print. I trimmed both down with the outer die from Frilly Frames Quatrefoil and cut a window from the center with the Stitched Semi-Circle Dies. I popped that up with foam tape and finished the card off with a punny sentiment.

I also did some fun stamping on the inside of the card, which you can check out in the video tutorial. But stay tuned after for the next spot on the hop, as well as all the info about discount codes, free gifts, and GIVEAWAYS! Plus a fun announcement!

Okay, I mentioned a whole lot of good stuff there, and here's the info. As I mentioned the new Fall/Winter release is now LIVE, but it gets even better! In honor of Sunny Studio's 5th Birthday, you can use the code FIVE YEARS to save 20% through Wednesday August 26th at 11:59pm PDT on any other Sunny Studio branded products (excludes new release). OR if you prefer, you can use the code FREESHIP to get free shipping on all overs over $25. Choose whichever code gives you the most savings. AND all orders will automatically come with a FREE poinsettia die!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! I also will be giving away a $25 gift certificate here on my blog. In fact, ALL the hop participants are giving away a $25 gift certificate! Plus there were giveaways for each day of the sneak peeks on the Sunny Studio blog, for a total of $525 in prizes!

I would love to give my gift certificate away to someone who subscribes to my YouTube channel (new or old subscribers -- all are welcome!). And I would LOVE it if you would also subscribe to the Sunny Studio YouTube channel because...

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - August

Hello and welcome to the August edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! Today I've got a card that is too cute to spook featuring the adorable Halloween Hoo. These owls are just so fun! I stamped them with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and colored with Copics, then trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my background panel I used the new Rolling Clouds Stencil and blended on Distress Oxide Ink in Black Soot and Hickory Smoke. I did a little splatter detail and trimmed that panel down with one of the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics. Then I adhered my images overtop.

I chose several of the fun prints from the Creepy Confections 6x6 pad to layer on my card. I trimmed the colorful diagonal stripe down with the largest of the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2, and the orange cross-hatch print with the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2. I adhered them to a standard A2 sized Grapecicle card base and popped my focal panel up with foam tape. To finish off the card I added a white heat-embossed sentiment and some Crystal Stickles.

The Best Hugs - Lawn Fawnatics #83

Hey friends! Welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge. This time we are making the sentiment the star! I created a fun under the sea themed slimline card by combining images from Ocean Shell-fieYou Are Sublime, and Fintastic Friends. I stamped everything in Jet Black ink and colored them with my Copic markers.

For my background, I die cut a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Large Slimline with Sliders, then split that into two with the Slimline Stitched Hillside Borders. I blended on Distress Ink in Speckled Egg, Shaded Lilac, and Dusty Concord for the sea, and Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs for the sand.

I die cut the Scripty Hugs out of the center of the sea, then layered it with two more die cuts to give it some lift. Then I added my images with a mix of foam tape and liquid glue. I added a partial sentiment above the hugs from Mom + Me and finished off the card with some Clear Droplets. I also stamped on the inside with Merman Ink which you can check out in the video.

Best Fishes Card

Hey friends! Today I've got a fun card for you using Sunny Studio Best Fishes and Tropical Scenes. That hammerhead shark is just so cute! I stamped everything out in Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and colored them with Copics. Then I trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my background, I blended Distress Oxide Inks onto a piece of Bristol, starting in the center with Peacock Feathers and working my way out to Mermaid Lagoon, with Chipped Sapphire darkening up the outside edges. After this was dry, I trimmed it down with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables and stamped my sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I attached it to my Moonstone card base and popped up the coral reef with foam tape. Then I adhered my images with a mix of foam tape and liquid glue. As a final embellishment, I added a few Clear Droplets to look like bubbles.

Quick Tip: Ink Blender Storage Solution

Hello friends! Today I have something a bit different for you. I'm sharing my new storage solution for my Mini Ink Blending Tools and Blending Foams for my Distress Oxide Inks.

This solution cost me a whopping $6 + tax, so it's super affordable too. I used a Jewelry Bead Organizer from Hobby Lobby, and labeled all the spots using my Brother P-touch Label Maker.

This is really something that is much easier to show you in a video format, so I hope you'll watch and enjoy! Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Fairytale Slimline - Lawn Fawnatics #82

Hey friends! Welcome to Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #82! This round is all about color inspiration, though I was inspired by the pretty clouds too. I created my second ever slimline card, featuring Little Dragon and Tiny Fairy Tale. I stamped my images in Jet Black ink and colored them with Copics, then trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my focal panel, I die cut a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface cardstock with the Large Slimline with Sliders and used the Cloudy Stencil to blend on Distress Oxide Inks in Chipped SapphireSeedless Preserves, and Shaded Lilac. Then I cut three Puffy Cloud Borders and added some Shaded Lilac to the tops of those too. I stamped a sentiment from Party Animal in Juice Box Ink on the bottom one. Adhered the tallest flat to the card and popped the bottom two up with Foam Tape.

I cut the Build-a-Castle out of various colored cardstock and put that together using my Reverse Tweezers for all those fiddly little bits. Then I adhered my images to the scene. To finish off the card, I added some speckles of Liquid Stardust and a sprinkle of Iridescent Mini Stars.
