Friends Make The Holiday Jolly

Happy New Years Eve, friends! Today I wanted to stop by and share two cards that didn't make it into videos, but I really liked how they turned out. Both of them feature the Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins stamps and dies, with a sentiment from Jolly and Merry. Both were using backgrounds that I had made as extras from other projects, and both featured images that had been stamped and colored ages ago, on a whole sheet, as I like to do. Not much in the way of video material, but they certainly did make some quick and easy cards! Seriously, if you haven't tried this "extras" method, I swear by it. Especially around the holidays.

Even though this is the last day of the challenge, I'm going to sneak these in with the Mama Elephant Stamp With ME December Flickr Challenge. Why not, eh? One of my goals for 2016 is to participate in more challenges, and there's no time like the present to get started, am I right?

By the way, just a head's up, I will be back at midnight tonight to participate in the Season's Givings Blog Hop. Loads of crafters all giving stuff away to start the new year off with generosity? You don't want to miss it!

See you then!

From Our Home To Yours - 2015 Holiday Series Card #12

Friends, we've come to the end. Of my 2015 Holiday Card Series, that is. There were a few more card ideas I had in mind, but with Christmas Eve tomorrow, it's time to call it quits. We made it to 12, which is more than last year! And I may have made it further if I weren't foiled by the internet installation guy for the first few weeks at the new house. Lol! I'll have to just plan even more ahead for next year.

Today's card is truly a farewell to the series. I just couldn't stop adding to it, because I think I didn't want to say goodbye just yet. All my stamps and dies were from Mama Elephant, and included Reindeer GamesCozy Christmas, and Christmas Scene as well as the Landscape Trio Creative Cuts and lots and lots of Copic coloring.

I hope you enjoy the video! Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right if you'd like to watch it there in HD and please don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe. That can be your Christmas gift to me. Lol!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Comfort & Joy - 2015 Holiday Series Card #11

Hi friends! Tonight I'm popping on to share my 11th project in my 2015 Holiday Card Series. These tags can be easily popped on a card front or used as they are for gifts. I made four of them quickly, assembly line style, during this video.

The stamp set I used was the gorgeous WPlus9 Heartfelt Holiday and a bunch of pigment inks from Memento Luxe and Avery Elle. And I blinded them up with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins. I hope you enjoy the video. Please click the YouTube icon at the bottom right corner to watch there in HD. And don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe!

I would like to link this project up to the WPlus9 Throwback Thursday Challenge #10 as well as the Freshly Made Sketch #217 and the Sparkle & Shine Twenty Challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have an awesome day!

Hey everyone, happy Monday! It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge and this one is just in time for the holidays! I don't know about you, but I'm still cranking out Christmas cards for my local friends and family that I'll hand-deliver on Christmas eve.

For today's card I used the adorable Oh Snap stamps and dies by Lawn Fawn as well as a couple tiny images from Deck the Halls for my Christmas platter. And I stamped my sentiment inside a speech bubble from A Birdie Told Me with my new Lobster and Walnut inks.

Special thanks to the always generous Lawn Fawn for donating a FREE stamp set of the winners choice! Be sure to head over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog to link up your own Christmas themed projects to be entered to win! And don't forget to check out the other amazing design team samples as well.

Polar Bear's Joy - Holiday Card Series 2015 #9

Good morning, friends! Today I'm finally getting to use an image that I've been hoarding for a long time. Lol. I purchased this adorable Lili of the Valley image last year intending to use it in my 2014 Holiday Card Series but then I simply ran out of time. So I knew I HAD to use it this year!

I colored him up with Copics, and added some papers from American Crafts. Everything was die cut with Avery Elle Finished Frames and Pinked dies. And of course I had to add my latest re-obsession, Stickles!

Please enjoy the video! Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch it there in HD, and please don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe.

I will be linking this up to the Sparkle & Shine 20 Challenge as I was inspired by the color palette of their badge, and also to the Simon Says Stamp: Die Crazy Challenge

I hope everyone has a fantastic day! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Little Drummer Boy - Holiday Card Series 2015 #5

Hello, friends! For card #8 in my 2015 Holiday Card Series I am showing you how I mass produced five cards -- with a twist. Each one is just a little different, so each recipient will still get a unique card. I'm using WPlus9's Drummer Boy stamp and die sets and a whole lot of Distress Ink.

For the background I showed in the video, I used Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry, and Shaded Lilac for the sky, and then Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, and Frayed Burlap for the sand. On a couple of cards I chose to mix it up and swapped Seedless Preserves for the Shaded Lilac, like the one above.

On this one, which was actually the last background I created, I really went crazy with my sky and used Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, and Chipped Sapphire. I guess as the evening wore on, the sun went further down in my mind until it was truly night.

The images I watercolored with just one shade each, but I let it dry in between so it has two to three layers on each image for that variation in color intensity. I used Frayed Burlap for all my browns, Mowed Lawn for my tree tops, Pumice Stone for my critters, Evergreen Bough for the drummer boy's vest and baby Jesus's blanket, Squeezed Lemonade for baby Jesus's hair and the drum strap, and Aged Mahogany for the drum.

These cards were a bit time consuming to make, but I'm so pleased with the end results and I hope the recipients will be too. Check out the video below or click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch it there in HD. And please don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe!

All in all, this video took me over seven hours to film, edit, and voice over, and if I sound a little tired, that's because I finished it at 5AM! I know. I know. Just tried to push through and get it up for you guys! I'd still like to get at least two more videos done before the end of the series. Even if it does mean a few very late nights.

I'd like to enter this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Die Crazy since I used so many. Thanks so much for watching. Have a great day!

Hoppy Holiday - 2015 Holiday Card Series #7

Good morning, friends! I'm continuing to press forward and get as many cards as possible in my 2015 Holiday Card Series. Today is card #7, and it features this adorable set called Hoppy Holiday by Memory Box. As much as I love tradition, sometimes you just need an out of the box Christmas card to make you smile, and what is more out of the box than a Santa Frog?

I knew this image was the perfect opportunity to break out my distress inks and watercolor. I hope you enjoy the video! Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right corner to watch it there in HD and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more videos!

I'd like to link this up to the Virginia's View Challenge 21: All About Glitter. Even though it's hard to pick up on camera, I did use both Perfect Pearls and a double layer of clear Wink of Stella, so in real life it's nice and shimmery.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

You Warm My Heart - 2015 Holiday Card Series #6

Hey friends! I'm back again with another card in my 2015 Holiday Card Series. Since I got off to a late start this year with the move and not having internet for a few weeks, I'm trying to crank through and get as many posted for y'all as I can.

Today I couldn't resist using the brand new Stinkin Cute mini set from Lawn Fawn. He was the Black Friday bonus stamp, but if you missed him, I'm sure he'll be available for purchase before long. I combined him with some accessories from Baaah Humbug and a sentiment from Snow Day. The gorgeous papers were from the Cozy Lodge 6x6 by Recollections. I hope you enjoy the video!

Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right corner to watch there in HD, and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more videos.

I'd like to enter this into the Curtain Call Inspirational Challenge: Dear Santa, and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenges: Tag It, and also link up for using the Butterfly Reflections Ink December Mood Board. I hope you all have an amazing day!

Zadie's Christmas Cookies - 2015 Holiday Card Series #5

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm bringing you Card #5 in my 2015 Holiday Card Series. I just love this card because I colored the pup to look like my dog, Zadie, a flat-coated retriever we rescued from a local shelter a few years ago. Here's a picture of our sweet girl.

For my card, I used a whole bunch of Mama Elephant stamps and dies, beginning with my doggie from Playful Pups. I added a santa hat from Arctic Penguins and set the rest of my scene with elements from Cozy Christmas, and topped it off with a sentiment from Toy Shop. I die cut my Simple Stories Claus & Co papers with the Peek A Frame Creative Cuts. I colored everything with Copics and I go through all my colors in the video. And of course, my finishing touch was a couple different colors of Stickles and some Enamel Accents.

I hope you enjoy the video! Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch it there in HD and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more videos!

Have a great day, everyone!

Holiday Alpaca - Lawnscaping Challenge #119

Good morning, friends! It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge! #119 is all about Tags. Tags for gifts, tags for cards, tags for whatever you can think of! Tags are a perfect opportunity to utilize Lawn Fawn's great mini sets, like Winter Alpaca. To give him a soft, furry look, I colored him with colored pencils and blended them out with gamsol.

To set my scene I also used the Tag You're It dies, Stitched Hillside borders, and borrowed the tree from Toboggan Together.

Huge thanks to Ellen Hutson, LLC for sponsoring our challenge with a generous $25 gift certificate to her online shop. Please check out the other amazing design team samples at the Lawnscaping Challenge blog and link up your tags to play along!

Holiday Hugs - Day 4 of my 2015 Holiday Card Series

Happy Friday, crafty friends! I am super excited to bring you today's card, because POLAR BEARS! Oh my goodness, I just love them so much. And this stamp set by Dawn of Wplus9 just makes my heart so happy! It's called Holiday Hugs and at an awesome price point of just $6, how could I possibly pass it up? Am I right?

I decided to take a teensy break from my Copics to bring you a different coloring medium, so I broke out my Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils and gamsol. And what's a Christmas card without a little sparkle? So you'll see me bring out my Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush Pen for some extra shine.

I hope you enjoy the video! Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch it there in HD and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe! All those things let's YouTube know that you're interested in more videos from me, which really helps get the word out to other viewers as well. So I thank you so much for doing that.

I would like to enter this in the Simon Says Stamp: Let It Snow Challenge and in the Virginia's View December Challenge: All About Glitter. Even though that Wink of Stella doesn't show up well in the photo, it's definitely there in real life! And also to the Christmas Card Challenges #52: Anything Goes.

Have an awesome weekend, everybody!

Frosty and Friends - Card #2 of my 2015 Holiday Series

Hey friends! If today's card looks a little familiar, that's because I made a very similar one for the current Lawnscaping Challenge on Monday. People seemed to really enjoy it and I even had a request for a video, so I decided to film it for Card #2 in my 2015 Holiday Card Series.

Fleece Naivdad - A Very Fawny Holiday Week!

Thanks for sticking with me this week, friends! Have you been enjoying all the projects for A Very Fawny Holiday Week as much as I have? I mean, I've got icy cold toes after all the times my socks have been knocked off! Haha!

For my final project of the week, I once again featured Baaah Humbug, but instead of the peaceful, serene pasture scene I shared with you on Wednesday, this time I wanted to go as warm and cozy as I could think of.

My first idea was to pair it with Cozy Christmas and the flames from Love You Smore. To give my mantle a little holiday motif, I added the snowman from Winter Gifts and the trees and deer from Ready Set Snow. I wanted my sentiment to look a cross stitch sampler, so I added a frame from Flirty Frames around it. And to continue that framed look, I used the Stitched Rectangle Stackables and Scalloped Rectangle Stackables dies.

I hope you enjoyed all three projects I had featured at A Very Fawny Holiday Week! If you haven't checked out all the other incredible inspiration to be had, please visit the Lawn Fawn blog to do so.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Christy Gets Crafty (that's me!)

Calm & Bright - A Very Fawny Holiday Week!

Welcome back, friends, to A Very Fawny Holiday Week! Can you believe we're already halfway through? So much jaw-dropping inspiration. For today's card, I featured the hilariously-named Baaah Humbug, a set that I just can't seem to put away, as you'll discover with my project for Friday. This set is just so versatile.

On this card, I was envisioning a peaceful pasture scene, as it might have been on the very first Christmas. I used another Brusho background (can you tell I'm addicted to the stuff?) and some simple shading to make my sheep and Stitched Hillside Borders stand out. I paired it with an embossed sentiment from Snowy Backdrops. To be honest, this is the card I pictured in my mind the instant I saw that sentiment when it was sneak peeked, so it was super fun to finally be able bring it to fruition. A little gold stickles and this simple, serene card was done.

I hope you'll stop by again on Friday to check out my last project to be featured in the Very Fawny Holiday Week, but check out the Lawn Fawn blog every day for the rest of the girls amazing samples that are sure blow you away!
