Crow Picnic - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #35

Hi friends! Happy Monday and welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This round is all about coffee, tea, and treats, and my favorite summertime treat is watermelon. I've been listening to an audiobook lately that was talking about crows, which I've always been kinda fascinated with, so I thought it would be fun to combine to two and create a little picnic for them.

I combined two seasonal sets, Happy Harvest and Happy Summer, colored my images with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies. For my focal panel, I cut out a piece of light aqua cardstock with the Cross-Stitched Square Stackables, and layered a Grassy Border and Simple Stitched Hillside Border overtop. I added a small white cloud from Spring Showers to the top right corner to finish setting the background scene.

To my Noble Fir card base, I added a piece of red gingham patterned paper from the Doodlebug Down on the Farm 6x6 to resemble a picnic blanket. I cut that out with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables so the dark green edge would show to mimic the watermelon rind. Then I added a polaroid frame from Say Cheese, Again and popped my focal panel inside that. To anchor it down, I added a little strip of washi tape at the top and bottom. As a finishing touch I used Glossy Accents on the crow's beaks and on the red of the watermelon.

I also did some fun stamping on the inside with Noble Fir ink, which you can check out in the video. Click the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch it there in HD, and don't forget to like and subscribe! It means the world!

And now it's time to head over to the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog and check out the other amazing design team projects. And don't forget to link up your coffee, tea, and treat themed projects for your chance to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
