Creating Cards Using Pre-colored Images

Hello my friends! Have you ever found yourself with some leftover colored images and are stumped with how to create a card around them? If so, then today's video is for you! I keep a little dish on my desk for extra colored images, but I rarely get around to using them. Some of them have been in it for years! But I'd had enough of them sitting there, begging to be used, making me feel guilty. Lol. So I asked my YouTube viewers if they were interested in a video like this, and the overwhelming response was YES! It turns out many of you have a dish or container of leftover images like mine. Today I've got a process video, showing you in real time, start to finish, how I make each decision of which images to use, where they should go, what supplies to pair them with, etcetera. If you enjoy this one, let me know, and maybe I'll make it an ongoing series!

The first card I made was using leftover images from Hello Bluebird Best Days combined with some gifts from Christmas Is Coming. I also had a few leftover colored backgrounds, including a Pathway Background, that these images just seemed perfect for. I wanted this to be a birthday card, so I used a sentiment from Party on the Farm. The color palette was almost a complete match with the Doodlebug Designs Great Outdoors 6x6 pad, so I brought those in too, trimming things down with the Lawn Fawn Large and Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables.

The second card I made features the Avery Elle Astronauts, which I combined with Speech Bubbles to make it another birthday card. I had a leftover background that was meant to be a rainy day scene, but I decided it could work just as well for outer space. This one I matched with the MFT Stars and Stripes 6x6 pad to tie in their red, white, and blue space suits.

I really hope you guys enjoy the video and find it helpful! Click below or watch on YouTube and please, please don't forget to leave me a comment on how you liked it! I would really appreciate your feedback, so I know if this is something I should continue to do in the future. I still have a lot of images left over, and they're giving me the stink eye! Haha! Have a great day!

Little Mermaid Christmas in July Card - Lawn Fawnatics #128

Hello friends! Happy Independence Day to those of us in the United States! Today we're celebrating a different holiday though with our newest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge: Christmas in July! For this card, I wanted to incorporate the beachy, summery vibes I'm feeling right now, so I decided to do a Little Mermaid theme by combining images from Mermaid for You and Christmas Fishes. I colored them with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my background, I blended Distress Oxide Inks onto two panels of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. For the sea, I used Cracked PistachioLucky Clover, and Pine Needles. For the sand, Antique Linen, and Gathered Twigs. Then I splattered both with gold paint using the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. I die cut the sea with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and the Stitched Ripple Backdrop, and the sand with the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders.

I adhered the backgrounds to a Barn Red card base, then stamped a sentiment with Lobster Ink and trimmed that down with an Everyday Sentiment Banner. I glued my images onto the scene, and then to give it even more detail, stamped bubbles into the sea with Noble Fir Ink. Then to finish things off, I added a bit of sparkle with Stardust Stickles.

Sending Summer Sunshine Card

Hello my friends, today I'm back with a card for our latest Hello Bluebird Color Challenge. This one has a gorgeous summery color palette that reminded me of a day at the beach. For my card, I colored images from Beach Play with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies. I also colored up the By the Sea background to set my scene.

I trimmed the background down with a Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and added it to a Peacock card base. I stamped a sentiment in Plastic Flamingo Ink and trimmed it down with an Everyday Sentiment Banner. Then I finished it off with some White Gel Pen accents and a little Stardust Stickles.

Cool Cat Birthday Shaker Card - Lawn Fawnatics #127

Hello friends, welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This round is all about Summertime Fun! For my card, I decided to use the brand new Pool Party stamp set and included the suntan lotion bottle from On the Beach. I stamped the images in Jet Black Ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

To create my pool, I first die cut the Stitched Pond from the All the Dots 6x6 pad to be the tile on the bottom, and blended on some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink to make it look like it's underwater. I also cut out a piece of Acetate, and then used the Stitched Pond Frame and die cut some Mermaid Cardstock. I adhered the frame to the acetate with 1/8" Score Tape and then  added a thin strip of foam tape to create a well. I filled that with Prisma GlitterChunky Glitter, and Iridescent Hearts, and popped the patterned paper on the back to seal it all in.

Next I created a card base from Dolphin Cardstock and blended Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink on the front with the Brick Stencil to give it the look of a patio. I added my shaker pool, then adhered my images with liquid glue. I also stamped a sentiment in Peacock Ink and trimmed it out with an Everyday Sentiment Banner. To finish off the card, I added a few Water Droplets around the pool.
