Just Wavin' Hello and a Giveaway

Hi there, everybody!

Here's hoping that this week will be a little

slower of pace, eh?

I could really do with an uneventful couple of days.

I've got a card to share with you today

that I made a few weeks ago,

using some new Die-namics I ordered through

my local scrapbooking store.

I got the Flat Bottomed Clouds and

Catch A Wave from My Favorite Things.

Also, as most of you know I've been

planning on doing a blog candy giveaway,

since I passed my one year blogoversary in January.

I've been amassing all this stuff for one big giveaway,

but then I got to thinking that it didn't seem very fun

to give away one big package once and be done.

So, after a lot of thought, I've decided to divide it up

and do a whole bunch of smaller giveaways

every month or two until I run out of stuff. ;o)

This way you also have more chances to win!

Hi there!

Has this been a crazy, stressful week or what?

I haven't had a second to craft anything,

but I do have a card that I made last weekend

for the Lawnscaping Color Splash Challenge.

I'd only made one Color Splash card before this,

and I didn't realize I'd used too many colors

when I created this one.

So I made a new one for the challenge

and saved this one for tonight. :o)

If Friends Were Flowers

Top o' the marnin' to ya!

I just wanted to pop in and wish you all

a happy St. Patty's day!

Are you wearing green?

I am! And shamrock socks. :o)

Anyway, I have to run to work,

but I wanted to quickly share a card I made

last weekend when I was in a creative flow.

It's not a St. Patrick's day card,

but I hope you'll like it anyway.

I made my background panel with lots

of strips of patterned paper, inspired by 

Kristina Werner's last Finally Friday card

and the little flower embellishments

by cutting them out of patterned paper

and adhering them with pop dots.

Hello there

Happy Monday, everybody!

It's going to be a great week, don't you think?

I don't know, for some reason I'm just

feeling extra cheerful this morning.

Maybe it has to do with the latest Lawn Fawn releases.

Have you seen them?

Eeek! Such adorable sets!

I'm already getting inspired.

Can't wait to get them and play.

I've been saving my pennies in advance!

Or maybe it's because last week's smothering

 of snow is melting again.

I don't know if we've quite seen the last of it yet,

but I'm eager for spring, aren't you?

Or maybe it's because I made three,

count them, THREE cards this weekend!

You Make Days Brighter

Well, it's officially morning!

I'm excited to share, what can I say?

So I'm going to go ahead and post my second card

before I head off to bed.

I was really inspired by two color challenges.

The palette is just gorgeous on both!

There's the Totally Hues Challenge #3

And also the ColourQ Challenge #75

They're similar enough that I thought

I could encorporate them both into one card.

Take a look:

I'd just gotten this adorable stamp from

Eat Cake Graphics that I knew I had to use.

It's actually an illustration from a children's book!

As a writer, you know how much I love that.

I wish more children's book illustrators would

jump on that bandwagon and turn their images into stamps.

The sentiment is from The Birds and The Bees by WPlus9

an adorable set that I can't wait to play more with.

Wrinkle ribbon from Danielle Walls at Neat & Tangled.

Gorgeous! And so fun to work with.

Let's Chit Chat

Hello, there!

Yesterday was such a rough day for me.

Nothing seemed to be going right.

By the time 8PM rolled around and I got the kids to bed,

I was in such a grumpy mood.

The last thing I wanted to do was craft.

I sat down at my desk, and started stamping anyway.

And you know what?

About five minutes into it,

I had completely forgotten about my bad day.

And by the time I was all finished, I was in a great mood!

In fact, I made TWO cards!

I almost never do that. Really.

So, I'll share one tonight, and one tomorrow.

Tonight's was made specifically for the

Wee Memories Challenge #46

Lawnscaping Challenge #5

Hi there!

Welcome to Lawnscaping Challenge #5!

I am REALLY excited about this one.

It's super-challenging, but I also think it's the most fun.

It forces you to really think outside the box and use

your stamps in ways you might not have ever imagined.

But once you do, it will open your eyes

to so many possibilities and new ideas!

The prize this go-round is fabulous.

Especially with all the adorable new Lawn Fawn

stamp sets releasing next week.

You just might pick one up for free!

So, I bet you're curious to see the card, right?

I decided to take the bear and the igloo from

Critters in the Snow and turn it into a Happy Spring card.

To get my textured cave and mountain,

I spritzed some Bazzill cardstock with water,

crumpled it up good and tight, and unfolded it.

I spritzed it again with just a light mist of perfect pearls

to give it just a hint of shimmer, like mineral deposits.

After it was dry, I ran it through my Cuttlebug to flatten it out.

I tore up the tan piece into a mountain-like shape,

then stamped the igloo on the back of the gray

and cut just above the outline to make it slightly larger.

I cut out a little opening and filled it with a scrap of black.

For my background, I drew some clouds onto

 Inkadinkado masking paper, cut them out and adhered,

then did some distressing to create my grass and sky.

Some punched flowers became my crocuses,

and all that was left was to wake up my bear from hibernation!

Sending Smiles

Have you all been as busy as I have this week?

Woah, I hardly know which way is up anymore!

I haven't had any extra time to get crafty,

but I really wanted to participate in the

Wee Memories Challenge #45

for Operation Write Home.

It's such a worthy cause.

Once again I'm down to the wire.

I think the challenge closes in a half hour

or something like that.

So I'm just going to jump straight into the card.

Here it is:

Since these cards are for soldiers

to send to their families back home,

I thought this card would be appropriate.

I hope it brings some joy

to one of our great men or women

defending our country and our freedom.

Because of them,

we sleep in peace tonight.
