Brambly Hedge Release

Hello again!
Here today with a brand-new release that I am super excited about!
Crafter's Companion is debuting their newest stamp line Brambly Hedge.
This line includes four sets -- one for every season.

I chose to use one of the images from Spring:

This adorable line features the sweetest little mice
that remind me so much of the book Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh,
which I loved as a child, and just finished reading to my children.

I hope you'll check out Brambly Hedge and fall in love with it like I have.

I wish you an awesome day!

Home Grown Summer and a recipe share

Hi there, everyone!
Popping in today with a card I made for the current

To me summer is all about sunshine and
running through the sprinkler and gardening...

I made my card using one of the MANY, MANY inserts
that come inside the Crafter's Companion Inspiration Magazine.
I wish I had a link to share with you all because it is truly fabulous!
Unfortunately the spring issue is completely sold out,
but I will definitely give you a heads up when the next issue comes out.
It's the perfect thing for making quick and easy cards,
plus it just has tons of inspiration and ideas.

I hope you like my card!

I also wanted to share a new recipe with you gals, if you don't mind.
I know I haven't done that in a while, but I've been finding
all these amazing new recipes on Pinterest,
and I thought you might be interested in seeing the ones I've tried out.
Let me know if this is something you'd like to see more of from me or not.
I honestly don't know if you guys would prefer me to keep this blog
JUST for papercrafting, or f you don't mind me sharing my other
crafty ventures, such as cooking, baking, painting pottery, etc.
So speak up and let me know! :)

Here's the one I tried out today:

Click on the title for the Pin and the recipe.
The only thing I did differently was add a little onion powder,
just because I cannot ever leave a recipe completely alone!
Gotta put my spin on it. ;)

Anyway, it was SUPER yummy.
My husband couldn't stop saying how good it was,
and my kids said I should make it EVERY DAY.
Yeah, not happening.
But I will definitely be adding it to my Master Meal List --
I'm working on making a meal plan and shopping accordingly.
These three-to-four stops a week at the grocery store have got to end.
I'm getting it together!

Thanks so much for sticking with me this long.
Have a totally wonderful day!

Home for the Holidays ... in June

Hey, y'all!
I know it's only June, but it is never too early to get a start
on those Christmas cards!
If you're anything like me, time always seems to run short
and I end up scrambling like crazy to get them all done in time.

Sheena Douglass has come out with some brand-new stamp sets
in her "A Little Bit Festive" line for Crafter's Companion
including the one I used on my card today, "Home Sweet Home."

What do you think?

I used the new Wink Of Stella glitter brush pen to add
some shimmer to my snow -- unfortunately, it didn't photograph.

Isn't that pup adorable though? He's stamped separately
and layered over top, so you can color him however
and place him wherever! Now that's obedience! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Lawnscaping Challenge #60

Hey girls!

We are being sponsored by the lovely Lawn Fawn
who has generously offered up a stamp set of the winner's choice.
Thanks, Lawn Fawn! We love you!

Here's my card:

I used a scrap of blue patterned paper from Daphne's Closet
and added some cloud die cuts to create my sky panel,
then ran a piece of kraft cardstock through a Tim Holtz embossing folder
distressed with Vintage Photo to create my tree.

To give it dimension, I rolled back the sides of the tree panel
and adhered it only on those folds so it would bow out.
I added another panel covered in Vintage Photo to the inside.
Then I stamped the raccoon, leaves, and sentiment from
Lawn Fawn's Critters In The Forest, and cut a few more leaves
free-hand from a green sheet of Daphne's Closet paper.
I distressed those with Shabby Shutters distress ink.
Added a button and some twine and called it done.

I hope you like it!

Please hop on over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog
and see the other amazing design team creations,
and link up your own dimensional cards and projects!
Can't wait to see what you create!

Have a great day!

A Special Wish

Hey there everyone!
I'm here with a new card to share!

I used the new Embossalicious 6x6 Chevron folder on my red panel,
with a sentiment from Party Paws "Flowers from Bamboo"
I mounted my image on a sticky-back canvas circle
and added some Studio Calico wood veneer stars.

The boat and the water were colored with Spectrum Noirs.

I hope you like it!

2013 Teacher Card Sets

Hello there!
How are you all this fine Monday morning?
My boys and I are enjoying our first official day of summer vacation!
It's raining -- but that hasn't hampered our moods too much.

Friday was their last day of school,
and as usual, I was working late into the night
on Wednesday and Thursday to complete the teacher gifts.
I always wait until the last minute! Procrastinator. ;)
Anyway, each of my boys has two teachers in their Montessori class,
and I always do card sets of six as their gifts, which totals up to
36 HANDMADE CARDS!!!
Whew! That's a lot to crank out in two days --
but I can't complain because it's my fault for not starting earlier.

So when you're making 36 HANDMADE CARDS
in two days, you have to keep the design simple.
Or at least, I do.
I loved the chalkboard image from Lawn Fawn's A Good Apple,
but I knew they were going to take too much time
to really achieve a realistic chalkboard look.
So I had the brilliant idea to use it as a whiteboard!
Some colored ink, a quick line drawn on the chalk stick,
some selective coloring and I had a dry-erase marker.

Here's some samples:

I also used Lawn Fawn's Lucky Stars on the middle card.
I used up the entire 6x6 pad minus two sheets from
the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss collection.

I think they turned out cute, and the teachers always tell me
how much they look forward to receiving them.

I hope you enjoyed them too!
Have a great day!

Carte Postal

Hi there, everyone!
I hope you're enjoying this wonderful weekend!
My boys and I are about to head out to their school picnic
at our local amusement park,
but before we do, I wanted to share this card with you.

This card is using one of my favorite sets from
This is Set 66 - French Travels and I love all the travel
themed images it contains. I used 4 of them on this one card!

I hope you like it!
Have an amazing day!

Lawnscaping Challenge #59

Hello there!

Our sponsor is the wonderful Simon Says Stamp!
They have generously donated a $25 gift certificate to our winner!

Simon Says Stamp

Here's my card:

which I colored in with my Spectrum Noirs
as well as papers from Daphne's Closet
and an element sticker from Pink Lemonade.
The woodgrain floral paper is Simple Stories Vintage Bliss.

I also colored the pink butterfly twice and cut them in half
and layered them to get a side view image.
I drew in the red collar and bone-shaped I.D. tag because
I just had to color the dog to look like my sweet Zadie. :)

We rescued her last August from our local shelter
and we love her to bits and pieces!

Isn't she gorgeous?

I hope you'll head over to the Lawnscaping Challenges blog
and check out the other amazing design team samples.
We'd love for you to play along!

Have a great day!

Quick Tip: EZ Magnetic Die Storage Solution

Hey everyone!
Today I wanted to share a great organizational tool with you all.
I recently converted all my dies over to the EZMagnetic Storage System
by Crafter's Companion and I am loving it!

It's sturdy, holds TONS of dies, and keeps them all together
and completely enclosed so even the itty bitty ones can't fall out.
You can fit a ton of sheets in one case -- I got 9 in mine,
and could probably squeeze in another to make an even 10.

I even figured out a way to tag them all so I know
which manufacturer made each die, which set it's a part of,
and how many pieces are in that set, should they ever get separated.

I bought a second one recently, and I'll be able to get all
my wafer-thin dies in them, with a few pages to spare.
And I love how slim and neat they look standing up on my work surface!
They take up hardly any room at all.

So glad I discovered this system for storing my dies.
Watch and see if it might be the solution for yours too!
