Otterly Great Birthday

Hey friends! I'm super excited to share today's card because I made it for my dad's birthday! His falls two days before mine, so we both celebrated this weekend! So I knew I wanted to make a masculine card, but of course it had to be cute as well... so Hello Bluebird Otter Friends was the perfect choice!

I colored up these cuties with Copics and made the fish look like rainbow trout. Then I trimmed them out with the matching dies.

I watercolored the background on Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock with my Sakura Koi Sketchbox, die cut the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame #2 out of kraft cardstock and popped that over top with foam tape.

For my sentiment, I stamped in Lawn Fawn Walnut ink on some more kraft cardstock and trimmed it out with an Everyday Sentiments Banner. Then I layered everything on top of a Moonstone card base. To finish things off, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm Clear Droplets, plus a little Crystal Stickles on the fish's scales and on the bow.

I also did some fun stamping on the inside with Moonstone ink, which you can check out in the video. :) Click the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch it there in HD, and don't forget to like and subscribe! I hope you enjoy the video! Have a great day!

Fall Friends - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #37

Hello friends! Welcome to Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #37! This round we're combining something old with something new. That's one of my favorite thing about Lawn Fawn products -- they're so easy to mix and match!

I am definitely still in the fall zone, so I decided to make a cozy friendship card featuring the moose and bunny from Critters in the Arctic. That moose is still one of my favorite images! I hadn't used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in a while, so I got those out and watercolored my critters and the background.

I die cut a frame using the Knit Picky Fall 6x6 papers and the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables with the Reverse Stitched Scalloped Square Windows for the center, and popped it up over my focal panel with some foam tape. To finish it off I added a few additional strips of patterned paper, a sentiment from Chit Chat, and a little heart to the speech bubble.

I also carried the stamping onto the inside of the card with Merman ink which you can check out in the video. Click the YouTube icon to watch there in HD and don't forget to show your support by hitting that thumbs up and subscribing to my channel! :)

Sunflower Field

Hi, friends! Today I have a fun card to share inspired by a gorgeous sunflower field near my house. Every day when I pass it, it makes me smile, and I wanted to recreate that on this card.

I started with the Waffle Flower Grow Happiness, which is technically more of a Spring set, but I like to stretch my stamps in new ways. I thought, with a little artistic interpretation, the tall flower could easily be a sunflower, so I stamped all my images, colored them with Copics, and trimmed them with the matching dies.

For my focal panel, I die cut some sky using the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and two shades of dirt for my field using Stitched Hillside Borders. I added a sentiment using Walnut ink, and then tucked my flowers into rows and adhered my sweet little mouse and her watering can with liquid glue.

I layered my Echo Park Celebrate Autumn 6x6 papers onto my card base and popped the focal panel up with foam tape over top. To finish things off, I added Crystal Stickles to the heart on the watering can, and Mercury Glass Stickles to the sunflower centers.

I also did some stamping on the inside, which you can check out in the video. Click the YouTube icon to watch there in HD, and don't forget to like and subscribe! Thanks so much for watching!

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - September

Hello! I'm so happy to be bringing you the September edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! I don't know about you but I am suddenly in the mood for all the fall cards, and the MFT September release is perfect for that!

This month I'm playing with the cute and cuddly Friendly Raccoons. I just love these little guys! I had so much fun coloring them with Copic markers, but what I really enjoyed was those fall trees! They add such great pops of color. To give my scene that breezy, autumn day feel, I included a few fallen leaves from Pure Innocence Sending Blessings.

To trim out both my focal panel and also the Fun & Frolic Patterned Paper I used the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2, which I find myself reaching for time and again, and trimmed out two Grassy Hills to complete the scene.

I also did some fun stamping on the inside, but I've got to save something for the video, right? You can watch below or by clicking the YouTube icon at the bottom right corner of the screen, which will take you directly to the MFT YouTube Channel, where you will probably want to stay awhile and soak up all that great content!
I hope you enjoyed this month's edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! If you did, be sure to leave a comment and let them know! Have a great day!

Fall Double Slider Loop Card

Hey friends! Make way for the squirrels! Today I'm bringing you a super fun and interactive card, with a squirrel that races back and forth across the scene. Sound fun? I know, right?!

For my card, I used the new MFT Birdie Brown Fall Friends combined with Pure Innocence Sending Blessings. I stamped the images in Black Licorice Hybrid Ink, colored them in some muted jewel tones with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

To make my card interactive, I used the shorter of the two Double Slider Loop Slots and trimmed down a thin strip of ziplock bag to use as my mechanism. I fed that through the darker green Grassy Hill, stapled the ends together, trimmed off the excess, then added a pull tab using the Volcano Die-namics

I adhered my mechanism to the focal panel, which was die cut with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX set 2, and added another Grassy Border over top to hide the mechanics. I glued down my images and finished it off with a sentiment from Birdie Brown Greetings Galore.

So Thankful - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #36

Hi everyone! I'll tell you what. I love summer! I have been hanging on to every last bit of it that I could. But now that it's September, I've given in to fall! September is also my birthday month, so it gets me thinking about autumn spices, apple cider donuts, cozy plaids, and colorful leaves. Our Lawn Fawnatics Mood Board Challenge fits right in that theme!

For my card I decided to use Jump for Joy for that autumn vibe and the adorable squirrels from Cheery Christmas. Love those cute little guys! I colored them with Copics and put them on a Stitched Circle Stackables focal panel with a Stitched Hillside Borders to stand on. I framed that in with a burlap print Scalloped Circle Stackables.

The rest of my patterned papers I trimmed down with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables and sliced off the edge of my focal panel with that as well so that I could line it up flush with the right hand side. As a finishing touch I added a little Platinum Stickles and a sprinkle of Metallic Rose Gold jewels for a bit of bling.

If you'd like to see how this card came together, watch below or click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right of the video screen to watch it there in HD. And don't forget to like and subscribe! I would sure appreciate it!
