Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - February

Hey friends! I'm so excited to bring you the February edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! This month I was so inspired by the gorgeous Splendid Swans. I watercolored them with my Zig Clean Clear Real Brush Pens and created a distress ink background to set the scene. To finish things off I added a Single Stitch Line Tag Corner Rectangle Frame and a few Clear Droplets to look like water splashes.

You're a Treasure - Lawn Fawnatics #23

Hello friends, happy Monday, and welcome to Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #23! Today we are tempting you to Try a New Technique, and for me it was the perfect opportunity to finally create a Magic Color Slider. I'd been putting it off far too long!

I decided I would make a birthday card for my youngest son, so I pulled out Ahoy, Matey and of course, the Magic Color Slider dies. Once you have all the elements trimmed out, it's actually quite easy to put together.

I stamped more images onto kraft cardstock with Walnut ink, added some stitched detail with Stitched Trails, then sponged on some distress ink to make it look like an old treasure map. Then I layered that panel on some patterned papers and adhered my Magic Color Slider over top.

To watch the entire process in HD, click the YouTube icon at the bottom right of the video, and don't forget to like and subscribe! I sure do appreciate it!

Save the Crafty YouTuber Video Hop

Hey friends! Today I'm happy to be participating in the Save the Crafty YouTuber Video Hop, which was put together to help those who were affected by the recent changes, and no longer have enough subscribers or watch time to be able to monetize their videos. I was not personally affected by these changes, but I did want to lend my support. In this hop, you'll find many crafty YouTubers that you already know and love, and you'll hopefully discover some great new channels as well!

For my card, I used Neat & Tangled Into the Woods combined with  patterned papers from the One Canoe Two Creekside 6x6 pad. I colored my images with Copic markers and created a simple watercolored background with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. As a final embellishment, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Did I mention that there are a TON of prizes on this hop? Over 120 prizes to be exact! And all you need to do to enter is subscribe to the channels you love and leave a comment on each video. Granted, the hop is pretty long, but there are awesome prizes at EVERY SINGLE STOP! Up for grabs on my channel is a $25 Gift Certificate to Simon Says Stamp and two Catherine Pooler inks. Be sure to watch the video all the way through for details. Winners will be chosen on February 26th, so you have plenty of time to watch as many videos as you can!

Click on the YouTube icon to watch the video there in HD, and don't forget to subscribe and leave a comment! You'll find the link to the person after me in the description bar below the video. Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy hopping!

Hogs & Kisses - Valentine Card Series #10

Hey friends! Happy Friday! Today I'm bringing you Day 10 -- the last of my 2018 Valentine Series. These cute piggies from Reverse Confetti Cured have been sitting on my desk, just begging to be used. How could I resist? I colored them with Copic markers and cut them out with the matching dies.

For my background, I die cut a panel with the MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX and added a muddy field with Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders and stamped a sentiment with Lawn Fawn Merman ink. I layered everything on top of some beautiful patterned papers from the Pebbles Forever My Always 6x6 pad.

I also did some fun stamping on the inside with Bubblegum ink, but I'll save that for the video. ;) Click on the YouTube icon to watch there in HD and don't forget to like and subscribe! It means a lot! I hope you all have an amazing day!

Hedgie Heart Day - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #22

Hey friends, happy Monday! Today I'm bringing you this sweet card for our current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge: Inky Fingers! I decided to pull out one of my most favorite Lawn Fawn sets, Hedgehugs. They always make me smile!

I colored these cuties with Copic markers and die cut them with the matching dies. Then I blended some distress ink onto a Stitched Heart Stackables to create a background. I layered my patterned papers trimmed out with the Stitched Rectangle Stackables onto my card base and added a sentiment from with  Chili Pepper ink.

Since this is also Day 9 of my Valentine Card Series, I decided to make two cards to send to the Cards From The Heart Card Drive for next year, since the deadline is past, and I've already mailed in my cards for this year. It'll be nice to have a bit of a head start for 2019!

Beary Best - Valentine Card Series #8

Hey friends, happy Friday! Today I'm excited to bring you Day 8 of my 2018 Valentine Card Series. Today I'm playing with this sweet guy from Beary Big Adventure. Poor thing had been sitting in my stash far too long without being used, so I just had to bust him out!

I paired him with papers from the gorgeous Free Spirit 6x6 pad, die cut with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2, and colored all my images with Copic markers to match.

I framed him up with the Linked Chain Oval Frames and sponged on some Distress Ink to the center to create a background for my little bear to live on, then adhered all my images with liquid glue.

As a final embellishment, I added a little heart from Once Upon A Time to his belly, and added some hearts to the inside of the card as well.

As you can see, I actually made two versions of this card using different patterned paper and varying the placement of the images on the focal panel.

I also completely finished off the inside with an additional image and sentiment, but I'll save that for the video. ;) Click the YouTube icon to watch it there in HD and don't forget to like and subscribe!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great weekend!
