Holiday Card Series #4

Happy Monday, friends! Today is Day 4 of my 2019 Holiday Card Series and I think it's my favorite so far! I just love these adorable critters from Mama Elephant Snow Friends and I had a delightful time playing with them! Gah, so cute!

I colored these babies in with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies. Then I created a background out of some Echo Park My Favorite Winter 6x6 patterned paper, trimmed down with one of the Mama Elephant Peek a Frames. I stamped a sentiment in Lawn Fawn Blue Jay ink and added a snowdrift with a Landscape Trio.

I trimmed down more patterned papers, the largest with another Peek a Frame, the second with my paper trimmer and the third (red) with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners. I layered these on top of my Moonstone card base and added my focal panel with foam tape. To finish things off I blinged it up with some Crystal Stickles.

I also finished off the inside, which you can check out in the video tutorial. Click the below or watch in HD on YouTube. And don't forget to like and subscribe! I appreciate it so much! Have an amazing day!

Holiday Card Series #2 + Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #63

Hello friends! Welcome to Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #63! This time we have an awesome card sketch for you to use and be inspired by. Card sketches are such a great resource and I use them constantly for new layout ideas. They can be turned and flipped and interpreted any way you like!

On today's card, I decided to raise the circle just slightly and flip the triangles into an upright position. I translated those elements into the moon and pine trees in my scene. I stamped the trees from Ready, Set, Snow and placed them on a snowy Stitched Hillside Border. Then added the adorable mouse from Mice on Ice onto my frozen pond.

I gave the frozen pond that frosty look with Distress Ink, and stamped my sentiment and a few icy swirls with Mermaid Ink. The sky was also created with Distress Inks, and spattered with Copic Opaque White. On the section I'd masked off for the moon, I stamped Santa's sleigh in Hippo Ink. Then I framed it up with a Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frame.

I adhered the panel to a Mermaid card base and as a finishing touch, added some bling with Crystal Stickles. I also finished off the inside, which you can check out in the video.

As I mentioned in the title, this is also Day 2 of my 2019 Holiday Card Series, so I hope you'll watch the video and leave me a like or a comment! Your support means the world.

And now it's time to head over to the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog and check out the other amazing design team samples. Then its up to you to interpret our sketch and turn that into an incredible work of art! I can't wait to see what you create!

Holiday Card Series Kickoff + Lawn Fawn Feature!

Hello my friends! Today is a GREAT day! Not only is it my 19th Wedding Anniversary, but am I being featured over on the Lawn Fawn Blog, AND I'm kicking off my 2019 Holiday Card Series!

I know I usually wait until after Halloween to go live with the Holiday Card Series, but with NaNoWriMo also going on all November (National Novel Writing Month for those of you were like, wait, what?) I knew that I was going to have to choose between scaling it back this year or starting early. You can see which one I chose!

So to kick things off I made a card with the set I was most itching to get inked up, Yeti or Not. Those yetis are just the cutest! And I combined it with one of my all-time favorite Lawn Fawn Christmas sets, Cheery Christmas (squirrels!) and also Toboggan Together.

All the rest of the details will be over on the Lawn Fawn Blog so please hop on over. I'll also have all the supplies listed and linked there as well.

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - October

Hello and welcome to the October edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! This month I could not decide between the adorable Festive Friends and Reindeer Games so I combined them! Can you blame me? So cute!

I stamped out my images with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink, colored them in with Copics, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.  Then I created a nighttime wintry scene for them to live in by blending Distress Oxide Inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. I used the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 to cut down the sky and the Hit the Slopes Die-namics for the snowdrifts.

I heat white heat embossed my sentiment so it would pop against the sky, then I popped up my front snowdrift with foam tape and added my images to the scene. I matted the focal panel onto some Black Licorice Cardstock and adhered that to the card base. As a finishing touch, I glitzed things up with a little Crystal Stickles.

I hope you'll check out the video to watch how this card came together. I had such fun creating it for you! Click the play button below or watch on the My Favorite Things YouTube Channel! I hope you'll hit that thumbs up button and leave me some love too! I love interacting with you guys and listening to your feedback.

I hope you all have an amazing day! Thanks for stopping by!

Fall Friendship Scene

Hey friends! It's Monday, which means another card and video for y'all! I'm super excited about this one because SQUIRRELS! You all know how much I love them and these guys from the Hello Bluebird Oh Nuts! stamp set are some of the cutest I've ever seen!

So I colored my images with my go-to Copics and trimmed them out with the matching dies. Then I die-cut the Oak Tree Scene out of Bristol Smooth Surface and colored in the individual pieces with Distress Inks. Still totally feeling those fall vibes!

I stamped a sentiment and adhered my images with liquid glue -- this one is nice and flat for mailing! Then I added a few details with a white gel pen on the mushrooms and crystal stickles to the leaves, treetop, and the squirrels noses.

I'm super happy with how this one came out, and I hope that you are too! If you'd like to see how it came together, click below or watch in HD on YouTube. And don't forget to like and subscribe! I hope you all have an amazing day!

Purr-Fect Halloween - Lawn Fawnatics #62

Hey all! Welcome to another fun Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This round we've got a gorgeous Halloween inspiration photo for you! You can choose to incorporate the design, the colors, which ever moves you to create. I personally was inspired by ALL of it for my card, featuring the Spooktacular stamp set.

I stamped and colored my images with Copic markers, including the crows and a few pumpkins from Happy Harvest, then cut everything out with the matching dies. For my background, I masked a circle using the Circle Stackables on some Bristol Smooth Surface cardstock and sponged on Distress Inks and spritzed with Perfect Pearls to give it a pearlescent sheen. I peeled off the mask, and added detail to my moon with Copics.

For the ground, I trimmed a Stitched Hillside Border out of Black Licorice cardstock and spritzed that with the Perfect Pearls as well. To help the sky look extra dark and creepy, I die cut a few Spring Showers clouds out of Narwhal cardstock and sponged them with white pigment ink to reflect the glow of the moon. I added my images and finished off the card with some white gel pen stars in the sky, Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Overlay Pen on a few details, and a sentiment.
