Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta

Hello there!
Kind of a different post tonight.
If you follow me on Facebook, you know
that I love to cook, and I often post about it.

Tonight I had some requests to share my
recipe for Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta,
and my sweet friend Ashley suggested that
I post it here on my blog, so that people
can pin it to their Pinterest accounts if they like.

So, here it is:

I love the taste of Chicken Cordon Bleu, but let's face it,
that dish can be a lot of work to make.
I wanted to keep the traditional flavors of the dish
but simplify it for those nights when you need something
quick and simple, but tasty and filling.

Here's the other thing.
I am totally flattered when people ask for
my recipes, but sometimes it's a little hard to do,
since I rarely cook with any measurements.
You don't need any for this.
It's as simple as can be!

Christy's Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta

Ingredients:

1 package skinless boneless chicken strips or breasts (strips cook faster and chop easier)
1 package pasta (I like Farfalle, but any medium-sized pasta will do)
1 jar Alfredo sauce (sometimes I make my own, but jarred can be just as good)
6-8 slices deli ham
6-8 slices swiss cheese (I like Lorraine or Heidi Ann - the kind with tons of tiny holes)
salt and pepper

Directions:

Get your pasta water going.
Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and saute chicken until just cooked through. (Season your chicken with salt and pepper before adding to the pan).
Remove cooked chicken to a cutting board and rough chop into bite-sized pieces.
Add pasta to boiling water.
Dice your ham and cheese slices. (I just stack them all up on top of each other and go to town. ;o)
Drain your cooked pasta.
Add Alfredo sauce to hot, empty pot.
Dump in pasta and all other ingredients.
Add salt and pepper.
Stir.
Serve.

Didn't I tell you it was simple? :o)

If you make it, come back and tell me!

Frightfully Sweet

Hey there!
How's your week going so far?
Glad Monday is nearly over?

Being that it's my day off,
I actually had a chance to get crafty.
I made a Halloween card
using that cute Darcie's Heart & Home set
and filmed a video while I was at it.
I hope you girls are enjoying them. :o)

Here's the card:

So Very Thankful

Hey there!
Happy Friday!

I had a little free time to make this cute card today:

And while I was at it, I thought I'd film a video,
showing you a little of my Copic coloring
and my card making process.

I've been working really hard on a new intro

Lawnscaping Challenge #44

Hey everybody!

Isn't that badge awesome? I love that organizing tray.
It's actually a fairly similar idea to the DIY one
that I posted with a video tutorial on Friday.
If you haven't seen it yet, check it out HERE.

But back to the challenge.
We are sponsored by the lovely Lawn Fawn
who has graciously offered up a free stamp set
of the winners choice.
Thanks, Lawn Fawn!

Here's my card:

For my technique, I decided to use spray mists to create
a background, including finger painting the snow with it.
I'd bought some Mister Huey's recently, but I had
never tried them out, so this was the perfect opportunity!

I used Lawn Fawn's Critters In The Forest,
teamed with Simple Stories holiday 6x6,
some gingham ribbon, a paper doily, and a
tree wood veneer by Studio Calico.

I hope you like it!

Please hop over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog
to see the other amazing design team creations
and check out the deets on how to play along.

See you there!

DIY Two-Tiered Serving Tray

Hey everybody!
I've got a fun, easy, and inexpensive
crafty project to share with you girls today.

I recently made this two-tiered serving tray
to store my Mister Huey's, Glimmer Mists,
Paint Daubers, Stickles, and such in my craft room.

This two-tiered tray is so versatile!
You could use it as a home decor piece and fill it
with leaves and mini pumpkins for fall,
and change it out with each season.
You could use it as a serving tray at a party --
just put the food in paper liners or little cups
as the spray paint might not be food safe.
You could use it to store all sorts of office supplies,
embellishments like vials of glitter or glass jars of buttons.
So many possibilities.

I filmed a how-to video so you can make your own!
If you do, be sure to let me know
so I can come check it out. :o)

Lawnscaping blog where it all begins.

Also, if you get lost anywhere along the way,
head back over there for the full list of participants.
The hop will run from this morning, October 5th at 8AM
through Sunday, October 7th at 11:59 PM.

If you're hopping along in order, you should have come
from the lovely Lauren --
isn't her blog design completely fabulous?

Here's my card:

I LOVE pumpkins, so of course I had to try
to recreate that fabulous pumpkin pile.
When I think of Fall, I think of texture,
warm, nubby sweaters and woolen tights,
so I tried to incorporate a variety of fabrics and patterns
including burlap, canvas, polkadots, woodgrain and chevron.

Hope you like it!

Now you're off to the adorable Aimee
who I just KNOW will have a totally amazing
project to share -- she always does!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Happy hopping!

LSS Mini Haul

Hey all!
I just wanted to share a quick mini haul video
showcasing a few items I picked up at
my local scrapbook store last Friday.

I had a 20% off birthday coupon
that was about to expire,
so I picked up a few goodies,
including two for the stockpile
I'm working on for a Christmas giveaway.

Enjoy!

Lawnscaping Challenge #43

Hello there!

Our challenge is being graciously sponsored by
the wonderful Simon Says Stamp who have offered up
a $25 gift certificate to the winner.

Simon Says Stamp

Here's my card:

I wanted to use lots of texture,
so on top of my MME paper I layered a bit of
May Arts lace, tore a sheet of cardboard
down to the core and dabbed on some gesso
with my finger, wrapped May Arts twine
around two Studio Calico wood veneer butterflies,
and finished it off with a sentiment
from Lawn Fawn's Fly Free.

I hope you like it!

Please stop by the Lawnscaping blog
and check out the other amazing DT projects,
including our fabulous guest designer,
the lovely, talented, fellow-nutella-on-english-muffins-lover,
So excited to have her with us!

Also, don't forget to check out the deets
on how to enter. We'd love for you to play along.
