Felines & Flowers - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #5

Hey friends! It's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This time we've got a gorgeous Mood Board that is sure to get your creative juices flowing. For my card, I drew inspiration from both the beautiful, bright color palette and the kitty and floral images.

I thought it would be fun to create some felines frolicking in a field of flowers (say that five times fast! ;), so I pulled together images and sentiments from Meow You Doin'Bicycle Built For YouMom + Me, and Critters At The Dog Park. I colored them with Copic markers and die cut them with the matching dies.

I built my background using a focal panel die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Stackables and added a grassy bank with Simple Stitched Hillside Borders. Two clouds from Spring Showers completed my sky. Then I layered that over some Perfectly Plaid Rainbow 6x6 papers die cut with the Zig Zag Rectangle Stackables.

I also did some fun stamping on the inside but I'll save that for the video. Click on the YouTube icon to watch it there in HD and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe!

Now please head on over to the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog and check out the other amazing design team samples. And link up your own Mood Board inspired projects to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Little Nurse

Hey friends, happy Friday to you! With my writers conference just around the corner (next week!), I've been so busy with that creative side of me that I haven't felt much mojo for paper crafting. So I decided to get back to basics and indulge myself in what I love most about it -- coloring.

I chose this Little Nurse image from Lili of the Valley for a couple of reasons. It's Nurse Appreciation week, and my hubby just happens to be one of the best! Also, a co-worker is having surgery soon, and I wanted to make a card for all of us to sign. And lastly, because it's just fun to color! Lots of little details to concentrate on while my stress just melts away. Coloring truly is my therapy!

There's lots of techniques in this video, from coloring hair, to achieving furry texture, to creating a soft glow around your images to help them pop off the page. I hope you enjoy it!

Panda Paws - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #4

Happy Monday, friends! It's time for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #4: Black & White & Bright. With that theme in mind, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to alter the sweet bears from Dad + Me and turn them into pandas!

I sketched out the lines in pencil, then went over them with my Memento Dual-Tipped Marker, which is a perfect match for the Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad. Then I colored them with Copics and cut them out with the matching dies.

I die cut a focal panel using Large Cross-Stitched Square Stackables and sponged on some Distress ink in Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, and Peacock Feathers, then added my pandas with foam tape, and a speech bubble from Chit Chat tucked between them.

I used Stitched Party Banners to add a little detail to the end of one of my  Pebbles Spring Fling 6x6 patterned paper and adhered them both to my Black Licorice card base with Tombow Mono Multi Glue. Then I added a stamped panel to the inside where you can write your message. I hope you like it!
