Cactus Birthday Card - Lawn Fawnatics #173

Hey friends, it's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge, and this time we're doing Dies Only. I started out my card using the brand new Cactus Hillside Border. I die cut the main piece from Cilantro Cardstock, and gave it a bit of definition with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink. Then I cut the little agave plants from Sage Leaf Cardstock and defined those with Evergreen Bough.

Next I cut out two pieces of Bristol Cardstock with the ground piece of the Cactus Hillside Border, plus another using the second smallest Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I colored the ground to look like sand with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink, and the sky with Salvaged Patina and a little Evergreen Bough. I also cut a few lines into the sand with the Ocean Wave Accents.

I created a card base out of Noble Fir Cardstock and did a bit of ink splattering with the green Distress Oxide Inks. Then to give it a bit more interest, I die cut the Honeycomb Backdrop out of Sage Leaf Cardstock and glued that over top. Then I assembled my focal panel, added a sentiment from Tiny Tags Sayings: Birthday and adhered it to the card.

Six to a Dozen (or More) Ways to Color Cats

Hey friends, today I've got another video showing you multiple ways to color a single critter, and this time I'm showcasing cats! I'll show you six different patterns to use on your feline friends and how to modify those with six additional examples, which will ultimately give you endless possibilities with just a little variation. The image I'm using is from the Hello Bluebird Nine Lives stamp set, and as always I am coloring with my Copic markers on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock. The images were stamped in Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink. I really hope you enjoy the video and find it helpful for your own card making! Have a wonderful day!

Loaded with Fun Card - Lawn Fawnatics #172

Hey friends, today we've got a fun and different Lawn Fawnatics Challenge. This time we're picking another Lawn Fawn design team member's card or project to inspire us. I get inspired by the other incredibly talented Lawn Fawn designers on a daily basis, so there were so many cards for me to choose from, but I ended up going with one that sparked a personal connection.

This is the amazing card by Catherine Cohen that inspired me to recreate it in my own style. Not only was it SUPER inventive (those hard hats are Ferris wheel cars and the bucket of the dump truck is a bathtub!), but my youngest son happens to work in road construction. I knew this would be the perfect birthday card for him.

I did switch up a few little things to make it my own, but the sets I used are Hay There, HayridesVeggie HappyBeary Rainy DayWheely Great DayRub-a-Dub-DubA Bug DealMermaid for YouKanga-rrific, and the Kanga-rrific Add-on. I colored all the images with Copic markers, modeling the color palette after my son's uniform and truck. Then I trimmed the images out with their matching dies.

For the background, I used the Cloudy Stencil and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink to blend a sky onto a piece of Bristol Cardstock. Then I cut the grass from Mushroom Border from Algae Cardstock and defined it with Mowed Lawn. Then I took a Simple Stitched Hillside Border and blended on Gathered Twigs. And last, I cut On the Road from Storm CloudSticky Note, and Bristol and blended on Black Soot and Squeezed Lemonade. I added a sentiment using Finley's ABCs and an Everyday Sentiment Banner.

If you'd like to see how this card came together, click the thumbnail below or you can find the video tutorial HERE on my YouTube channel. I really hope you enjoy it! If you do, be sure to like the video and subscribe to my channel! And don't forget to stop by the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog to see whose cards the rest of the design team was inspired by! And to link up your own projects and play along! We can't wait to see what you create!

Jungle Friends Birthday Card

Hey friends, today I've got a fun and festive birthday card to share using Hello Bluebird's Word Buddies Jungle. I love these cute little critters so much! I added in some additional images from Word Buddies Woodland and Cake Time and even a little gift from Christmas is Coming. I colored all the images with Copic markers to match some patterned paper from the Carta Bella Here, There, and Everywhere 6x6 and trimmed them out with their matching dies.

For the background, I started by watercoloring a simple background using Stormy Sky Distress Oxide Ink onto Bristol Cardstock. Once it was dry, I stamped a sentiment from Birthday Script in the center. Then I trimmed down the patterned paper and cut a window in them with the Nesting Circles and popped that up with foam tape over the background. I added my images around the circle and finished with a little Stardust Stickles.

If you'd like to see how this card came together, you can click below or find the video tutorial HERE on YouTube. And don't forget to like and subscribe! I really appreciate your support. Thanks so much for watching! Have a wonderful day!
