Garden Fairy Wishes Birthday Card

Hey friends, today I've got a sweet Spring birthday card for you featuring the Hello Bluebird Fairy Garden stamp set. I just love this one and it could not be more perfect for the season. I think I could easily make a dozen cards like this one in different color palettes and never get tired of it! I colored the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I kept it simple, blending Distress Oxides onto a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock in Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo. Then I splattered on some Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. I stamped a sentiment from Birthday Script, and popped up my images with foam tape. I finished it off with a few Sparkling Clear Sequins and some Stardust Stickles.

Elphie's Big Wish Card - Lawn Fawnatics Feature

Hey friends! Today I'm so happy to be featured over on the Lawn Fawnatics blog with another card for our Inspired by a Book, Movie, or Song Challenge! This one was inspired by a children's book with beautiful illustrations called, An Elephant Knows Best. You wouldn't believe how many sets I combined on this one card, but it all started with Elephant Parade Add-on, since he's the star of the show. Check out my post over there for a full list of supplies plus the inspiration photo! Remarkably Bright Creatures Card - Lawn Fawnatics #145

Hey friends, welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics challenge! This one has been so popular in the past we had to bring it back -- it's Inspired by a Book, Movie, or Song. I decided to try to capture my favorite read of the year so far, Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. I combined four different stamp sets for this one, and they are Ocean Shell-fieYou Are SublimeMermaid For You, and Scripty Bubble Sentiments. I colored the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I used a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock and blended on Distress Oxide Inks in Peacock FeathersMermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch for the water and Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs for the sand, which was trimmed out with the Stitched Hillside Borders

To add the plant silhouettes along the sides, I stamped sea grass and coral images from Mermaid For You with Fish Tank and Blue Jay Ink. Then I adhered all my images with liquid glue, stamped the rest of my sentiment, and finished with a little Stardust Stickles. Check out the photo comparison of the card and the book. I hope I did it justice!

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - March

Hey friends, today I'm so happy to be over on the MFT YouTube channel with the March edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things, and as a huge dog lover, this card was so much fun to create! I used the new YUZU Presents and Pupcakes and colored it with Copic markers to match some patterned paper from the Rainbow Love 6x6, then trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I took a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock and blended on some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink in the center with the English Brick Wall Stencil. I stamped a sentiment at the bottom and trimmed it down with one of the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2. I matted that with a piece of Caribbean Sea Cardstock. Then I popped that up over the patterned paper and adhered my images, finishing with some Stardust Stickles.

Lil Peanut Birthday Card - Lawn Fawnatics #144

Hey friends, welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This round is one of my most favorites because it is All Things Birthday! I never seem to have enough birthday cards in my stash so I'm always looking for an excuse to make more. For this one, I had to ink up the brand-new Elephant Parade stamp set. I love it so much! I colored the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with their matching dies.

For my focal panel, I started with some Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock, trimmed down with the Large Stitched Circle Stackables. Then I ink blended on some Broken China Distress Oxide Ink using the Cloudy Stencil. I cut down a second piece of Bristol with the grass portion of the Mushroom Border and blended on Shabby Shutters and Mowed Lawn.

Then I cut down some patterned paper from the What's Sewing On? and Stripes 'n Sprinkles 6x6 pads with the Scalloped Circle StackablesOutside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables, and the Stitched Party Banners and layered them on a Sticky Note card base. I popped up the focal panel with foam tape, adhered my images, and finished with some sequins and Stickles.

Tree Friends Birthday Card - Hello Bluebird feature

Hey friends, today I'm thrilled to be over on the Hello Bluebird blog with a sweet card featuring Tree Neighbors along with a few other sets to make it birthday-themed. Art Journal with Me #14 - Follow Your Heart

Hey friends! Today I'm back with my February Art Journal with Me Video! This one was completely inspired by my recent cruise vacation to the Caribbean. I had such a lovely time away with my family and very much enjoyed the much needed break from work and snow! I incorporated several bits of ephemera from my travels into my Art Journal to really give it that personal touch.

Some of the craft supplies I incorporated were patterned papers from the Mintay Seaside Escape 6x6, along with Washi Tapes and other Junk Journal papers for that collage look that I love. I also created a little window opening with a view of those stunning Caribbean waters that I love so dearly. I finished up with a Retro Date Stamp and some Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers for my title.

If you'd like to hang out for an hour and hear all about my trip, you can find the video below or by clicking here to view on YouTube. I really hope you enjoy it and will maybe grab some supplies and craft along with me! Let's make something beautiful today!

Groundhog Birthday Card - Lawn Fawnatics Feature

Hey friends, today I'm over on the Lawn Fawnatics blog with another card for our Show Us Where You Live challenge. Since I already did a card based on Presque Isle State Park, this time I decided to do subtle nods to my home state of Pennsylvania. I transformed a beaver from Wood You Be Mine? into a groundhog popping out of his burrow. I'll have all the details in my post over there, so I hope you'll check that out. I also have a video tutorial which you can check out below or watch here on YouTube. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - February

Hey friends, today I'm so happy to be over on the MFT Stamps YouTube channel with the February edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! This month I wanted to feature the adorable food images from We Make A Great Combo. There are so many options to choose from, but I went with the cheeseburger, fries, and soda. I colored them in with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I die cut one of the Mini Slimline Double Stitched Rectangle STAX and blended on a little Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. Then I blended Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink onto another panel to use as a layering element and adhered both to a Red Hot card base. I added my images and finished with a sentiment stamped on a strip of Kraft Cardstock.

If you'd like to see how this card came together, click below, or find it on the MFT Stamps YouTube channel. I really hope that you enjoy it, and that it doesn't make you too hungry!

Hometown Heart Card - Lawn Fawnatics #143

Hey friends, it's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge and this time we're hitting close to home with Show Us Where You Live. I decided to recreate Presque Isle State Park, by combining images from Smooth SailingAhoy MateyCoaster CrittersHappy Village, and the retired set Lovable Legends. I colored all the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I used the Peekaboo Backdrop as a guide to pencil in the different sections onto a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. Then I colored each one with Copics. Then I glued down three layers of the frame, two in white and one in Blue Jay Cardstock to give it a bit of height.

I adhered all my images with liquid glue. Then to finish the card off, I stamped a sentiment in Lobster Ink and trimmed it out with an Everyday Sentiment Banner. I glued that on the center cross bar of the frame. I also finished off the inside, which you can check out in the video tutorial.

2023 Valentine Card Series #9 - Lawn Fawnatics #142

Hey friends, welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! I think you all are going to really enjoy this one because we're getting interactive! There are so many fun ways to interpret this challenge, it's always a feast for my eyes to see what ideas other come up with. For my card, I wanted to finally use the Peekaboo Pop-up for the first time. I decided to combine it with Beary Rainy Day. I colored the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the card base, I started with some Mermaid Cardstock and added raindrops using the Rainy Sky Stencil and some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. For the hill, I used Noble Fir Cardstock blended with some Pine Needles Distress Oxide Ink. I assembled the card base using a Teflon Bone Folder to make sure I got nice, crisp creases.

For my interactive element, I included a little frog, that when popped up, looks like he's jumped to land on top of the bear's umbrella. Then I staged the scene with the rest of my images, adhering them with liquid glue. I finished off with a sentiment stamped in the top left corner.

This card is also the 9th and final day of my 2023 Valentine Card Series! I really hope that you  enjoy it! 2023 Valentine Card Series #8

Hey friends, today I'm back with a sweet card that was a bit of a headache to create! For some reason, I was just having a really off day and kept making mistakes, BUT I pushed through and I don't think you can tell from the final card, so all's well that ends well. Sometimes we just have to give ourselves a little bit of grace and a card can usually be saved if you keep going. So don't give up!

For this one I used the adorable Hello Bluebird Bouquet Buddies, which has both outline images and layering stamps. I colored the critters with Copics and stamped the flowers with a whole assortment of inks to match our newest challenge over on Instagram. Then I trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the focal panel, I die cut some Speckled Eggshell Cardstock with the Nesting Deckle A2 and popped that up with foam tape over a Ballet Slippers card base. Then I added my images with liquid glue. For the sentiment I die cut the Love You Words out of Barn Red and Vellum Cardstock and layered them together. Then I finished with a few stamped hearts and a little Stardust Stickles.

If you've ever had an off day of card making, be sure to hit the thumbs up and subscribe to my channel if you enjoy people who keep it real. Thanks so much for watching!

Art Journal with Me #13 - Shine Like the Universe is Yours

Hey friends, today I'm here with the first Art Journal with Me video of 2023! After starting in January of 2022, I've now completed an entire year of art journaling and I still love it! It's such a freeing art style. For this spread, I'm taking you out of this world, with a bit of a space theme using the Stamperia Cosmos 8x8 pad in my Square Watercolor Journal.

I also used a bunch of different ephemera, including washi tapewashi tape tickets, and various junk journal supplies to build up the layers and add texture. I used the Lawn Fawn Nighttime Stencil to add some stars with Gold Stencil Paste, and the Faber Castell Iridescent Gelatos to bring some color. And of course I used my Tim Holtz Ideology Small Talk stickers for the title.

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - January

Hey friends, I'm back with my second video of the day, this one over on the MFT Stamps YouTube Channel. That's right, it's time for the January edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! I was so excited to be asked back for another year, and I was feeling the love with this card, starring the new YUZU Hunny Bunny stamp set. Isn't it darling? I wanted to go for a coral and lavender color palette on this one, so I colored the images with Copic marker and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I tool a panel of Bristol Smooth Surface cardstock and blended on Distress Oxide Inks in Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concord. Then I trimmed it down with the Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX. I glued that down to a Grapesicle card base, then popped my images up with foam tape. To finish this one off, I added an Essential Stitched Sentiment Strip, some iridescent heart confetti, and a little Stardust Stickles.

2023 Valentine Card Series #3 - Lawn Fawnatics #141

Hello friends, welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This round is about having Lots of Heart. For this one I wanted to feature the adorable octopuses from Ocean Shell-fie. I love them so much! I colored them and a few of the scene-building images from You Are Sublime and Mermaid for You with Copic markers and trimmed the out with the matching dies.

For the background, I blended Distress Oxide Inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock, using Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky for the ocean. I also used the stormy sky to stamp bubbles all over. Then I trimmed down two more pieces of Bristol with the Stitched Hillside Borders and blended on Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs for the sand.

I also die cut the new Heart Garland Backdrop: Portrait out of white cardstock and colored the hearts with Copics to match the pink octopus. I added the background to a Ballet Slippers card base, glued the frame over top, and adhered my images. I finished this card with a stamped sentiment and a little Stardust Stickles for some sparkle and shine.
