To a Koality Friend - Valentine Card Series #7

Hey friends, happy Monday! Today I'm excited to bring you Day 7 of my 2018 Valentine Card Series, featuring the adorable Koalifications stamp set from Neat & Tangled. I colored this cute koala with Copics and paired him with some gorgeous gold foiled papers from the Crate Paper Main Squeeze 6x6.

I die cut the patterned paper with the MFT A2 Stitched Rectangle Set 2 Die-namics adding a window with the MFT Jumbo Peek-A-Boo Windows. Then I popped it up with foam tape and added it to my card base. I tucked my koala into the window and brightened the eyes with a black gel pen, then topped of the nose with glossy accents for extra shine and a little dimension.

I made three of these cards for the Cards From The Heart Card Drive, although I will be tucking these away for next year, since I already mailed out my package in time for the January 31st deadline. I'm still in the Valentine vibe, so that's what I'll be doing with the rest of the cards in this series.

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things

Hey friends! I am so super duper excited to be kicking off my new monthly guest series, Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things, over on the MFT YouTube Channel! Eek! This is a dream come true for me and I hope you all will enjoy it as much as I am!

For January, I could not resist playing with the new Raving Raccoons stamp set. I love these adorable critters and the sentiments are so fun! As soon as I saw the Peek-a-boo Striped Heart Die-namics, I knew I had to make a card with these guys busting out of jail.

To frame the focal panel, I used the Stitched Square Scalloped Edge Frames, and popped it up over some Hearts & Stripes Patterned Paper, then added my sentiment using one of the banners from the Hearts In A Row - Vertical Die-namics. I also stamped a sprinkling of hearts from Valentine Wishes to give the focal panel a little extra something.

I hope you enjoy the video! Subscribe to the My Favorite Things YouTube Channel for loads of amazing content that is sure to leave you inspired. And I'd love for you to leave me a comment below the video as well, and let me know how I did! Have an amazing day!

Spot in my Heart - Valentine Card Series #5

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm excited to share Day 5 of my 2018 Valentine Card Series, which features these adorable leopards from Reverse Confetti's Heart Spots stamp set.

I colored them in with Copics to match my gorgeous Authentique Lovestruck 6x6 papers and layered my images on a focal panel die cut with the Reverse Confetti Love Notes Confetti CutsI pulled in a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's How You Bean Conversation Hearts Add-on stamped onto the large heart form the Love Notes dies and tucked that on the left side.

I actually made four of these cards for the Cards from the Heart Card Drive which benefits St. Jude's Children's Hospital. There's still time to get your cards in by the January 31st deadline, so if you'd like to participate, just check out the info at the link above.

Love Letters - Valentine Card Series #4 and Lawn Fawnatics #21

Happy Monday, friends! It's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This time we have got an absolutely gorgeous mood board to inspire you!

For my card, I wanted to ink up the Lawn Fawn Love Letters stamp set and incorporate the gorgeous colors and photo prompts into my Copic coloring. I inked up my background, mimicking the way the light pours through the trees in the top right photo by leaving the center diagonal bright, and I added a speckled effect drawn from the photo at the bottom right. My bluebirds were taken from the scrap of sky in the top center.

I added a stitched edge using the Stitched Rectangle Stackables and die cut the center with the Stitched Journaling Card popped that up with foam tape for some added dimension. A few dabs of Glossy Accents was the perfect accent to finish things off.

I made three versions of this card for the Cards From The Heart Card Drive benefitting St. Jude's Children's Hospital. There's still time to participate if you'd like to! The kids are so deserving.

It's also Day 4 of my 2018 Valentine Card Series! Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch the video there in HD, and please don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe! It means so much!

Monster-Sized Love - Valentine Card Series #3

Hey friends! I'm finally back after a week of the flu. Yuck! But I'm on the mend, and itching to get crafty! Today I'm bringing you Day #3 of my 2018 Valentine Card Series using the adorable Monster Sized stamp set from My Favorite Things.

The outside of my card features two of these cuties accenting the sentiment, which I die cut out of a white panel with the Love You Die-namics. I also used the Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX to jazz up the outside edge with that great stitching detail. The pretty patterned paper peeking through is from the Hearts & Stripes 6x6 pad

To finish things off I added some Glossy Accents over their eyes to give them some dimension and shine. With kids, I find it's all about the details!

I made two of these cards for the Cards From The Heart Card Drive benefitting St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Please consider participating! It's such a worthy cause. The deadline for all cards to be received is January 31st, so you still have about a week or so to get your cards made and sent off.

As always, I did some fun stamping on the inside of the cards, which I'll save for the video. I also have a fun announcement that you won't want to miss! Click on the YouTube icon to watch it there in HD and don't forget to like and subscribe for more videos!

Love Like No Otter - Valentine Card Series #2

Hello friends, welcome to Day 2 of my 2018 Valentine Card Series! Today I'm playing with the utterly adorable Avery Elle Otterly Fantastic stamp set. I actually stamped out four of these guys and colored them with Copics in either browns or grays, just to keep them a little different.

Then I created background with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink, and stamped a sweet sentiment with Lawn Fawn Plastic Flamingo ink. I added a strip of MFT Hearts & Stripes patterned paper die cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders down the side to tie back in to the seashells and fish. Simple but cute!

All of these cards will be going to the Cards From The Heart Card Drive benefitting St. Jude's Children's Hospital. This is such an amazing cause! I would love it if you would consider participating. Check out my Valentine Card Series Day #1 post for all the information.

Cards From The Heart Drive + Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #20 + Valentine Card Series #1

Hey friends! Welcome to Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #20 and also the kickoff of my 2018 Holiday Card Series! Today I'm playing with the adorable Lawn Fawn Milk and Cookies stamp set to go along with our Fun With Food Challenge! Too cute!

It's also Day #1 of my Valentine Card Series, which coincides with the Cards From The Heart Card Drive, benefitting St. Jude's Children's Hospital. This is such a worthy cause! We would love to see as much participation as possible. Last year Winter collected over 7,000 cards that went to 21 hospitals, 2 foster homes, and even a nursing home! What a blessing to so many people.

If you would like to participate, here are a the guidelines:

*Create handmade cards of a Valentine theme ONLY - no get well soon, feel better, or prayers. These kids know they are sick. We want to give them one day to forget!

*Cards should fit in an standard size envelope (no need to include any) and be for any gender or age.

*No buttons, enamel dots, or anything that could be pulled off and become a choking hazard.

*Absolutely no glitter of any kind. If it looks sparkly, the hospital will not accept it. This is a safety precaution for children with breathing issues.

*Include a cheerful greeting and sign with your first name and state. No last name, city, blog address, or any other personal information should be included.

Send cards to:
Winter Sims
Card From The Heart Card Drive
P.O. Box 754
Warren, TX 77664

*Cards must be RECEIVED by January 31st to ensure that Winter has enough time to sort, repackage, and send out the cards to the hospitals.

That's it! Pretty simple if you think about it. It's all about bringing smiles to these kids faces. They are so deserving!

Please see Winter's blog post for any additional information.
