Hey Gill-friend

Hey there, everyone!
How's your weekend going?

This morning I was stalking the Oozak web store,
my favorite place to buy Copic markers,
because I'm waiting for a couple of re-inkers to come in.

While I was there, I happened to notice that they
have a challenge blog! I don't know how I missed that before.

Anyway, their challenges are month-long
and July's is to use bright colors.

I had to make a card to play along.

I've been doing this new thing --
when I stamp out the images I need for a card,
I go ahead and stamp out a few extra images from the set,
and color them all up on one sheet together.

I make my card as planned,
and if I need another image or two, I've got them ready.
If I don't, the next time I come to my desk,
I have these adorable images already stamped and colored,
just waiting for me to play with.
It makes it so much less intimidating than starting
a whole new card from scratch.

These images were leftovers from this card
and I think it turned out every bit as cute.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great weekend!

Sending Heli Pilot Love

Hello everyone! Happy Monday!
Last Friday on my day off, I got a chance
to make a couple more cards for the Heroes Card Drive
sponsored by Lawnscaping Challenges.

Here's one of them using postage marks and a sentiment
and a military pilot from an adorable stamp set
called Our Heroes by the wonderful Deasy Designs.

These stamps are so easy to work with and
have such adorable designs -- I just find myself reaching
for them again and again!

If you haven't had a chance to participate in the
Heroes Card Drive, you still have through the end
of this month -- July 31st is the deadline.

It's such a worthy cause and EVERY CARD COUNTS,
so even if you can just do one or two,
I encourage you to send them in.
Or send in cards that  you've already made that are just
lying around -- we all have those!
Just take a quick glance at the requirements on the link above.
We want to keep our soldiers safe and happy.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day!

You're Swell

Hey everyone, how's your Thursday going so far?
Hope you're all doing well.

Today I thought I'd stop in and share a card I made

It's been a long, long time since I've played along in
any challenge but it's something I've been wanting to do more of.
And when I saw this color story on Facebook using colors I love --
cool blues and yellow, I thought now would be the perfect time.
I've got a couple Paper Smooches stamp sets that I love,
but were definitely being under-utilized.

Here's the card I made.

The card base is actually a pale kraft color,
though it's washed out in the photo.
I think it came out pretty cute.

Thanks so much for popping in today!
I so appreciate you all!

Lawnscaping Challenge #38 & Giveaway

Hey, there everybody!

Isn't that photo just a hodge podge of goodness?
There are just so many ways you could go with it!

Our challenge is sponsored by the wonderful,
delightful, whimsical Lawn Fawn who has generously
offered up the following prize:

And with TEN new sets releasing this week at CHA,
who wouldn't love that, am I right?

For my project, I decided to make a paper bag mini album.
Here's a look at the front:

The inside is pretty intereactive,
with pockets, tabs, and tags that slide out,
so rather than take a whole bunch of pictures that wouldn't
do it justice, I decided to film a video.

My iPhone was the only thing I had on me
when our house was broken into, so I was able to film
with that and upload directly to YouTube.
I hope you'll forgive the lack of an introduction or credits.
Please watch all the way to the end though,
I promise it's worth it. :o)

You can click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right
to watch it there in HD and please also subscribe to my channel.
I'm hoping to film lots more video tutorials
once I replace my camera and Macbook.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Please head over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog
to see the other incredible design team's projects
and find out all the details on how to enter our challenge

Have a fantastic day!

Heartfelt Thanks

Today I come to you with a heart full of gratitude.
Most of you by now have probably heard about the
recent break-in that happened in my family's home
and the theft of all our valuables.

Well some dear crafty friends came together and
held a card/donation drive called Operation Safe and Sound
on both the Lawnscaping Challenge blog and
A Blog Named Hero as well as many individual blogs.
The drive lasted all this past week, and all together
a total of $498.83 was raised for my family!

I was just completely blown away by the generosity
of these ladies who hosted the drive, and the people who
donated, wrote kind words of support, or sent up prayers.
I feel so honoed and blessed to be a part of such
a loving, giving, caring community of crafters and friends.

The money raised will go toward replacing my
beloved MacBook that was stolen
and I will cherish it all the more, knowing that
it was this wonderful group of women who enabled me
to repurchase the tools I needed to continue my love
of papercrafting and sharing blog posts and videos.

Heartfelt thanks goes out to all of you dear ones!

And an extra-special thanks goes out to Melissa Shea
and Laurel Beard for organizing the whole drive
and just being completely wonderful, lovely friends.

Much love to all!
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Lawnscaping Challenge #37

Hello!

Our challenge is being brought to you by the
incredibly generous Simon Says Stamp.
They've offered up a $25 gift certificate to the winner.
Simon Says Stamp

Here's my card:

I did a little creative stamping and hand-drawing
to make a flock of flamingos in various layers of dimension.
They're not perfect, but I think my seven-year-old
neice who's birthday it was appreciated them. :o)

Be sure to head over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog
for all the details on the challenge and to see
who our two AMAZING guest designers are.
Check out the other fantastic design team projects
and leave them some love while you're there.

Have a great day everyone!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I hope you'll go check them out and
