Happy Birthday Moose

Happy Monday, friends! Today I'm excited to bring you a card using the cutest set I've seen in a while -- the new Hello Bluebird Moose and Friends! I absolutely adore these sweet woodland critters! I had such an enjoyable time coloring these guys up with Copic markers. I used neutral colors for my critters and then went bright and colorful with my accessories. When I was done, I trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my background, I trimmed out some Bristol Smooth Surface cardstock with the Mama Elephant Femme Frames (now included in the Basic Set) and watercolored a dusk sky using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. Once it was dry, I adhered my images with liquid glue, then popped the focal panel up with foam tape over some Echo Park Happy Birthday Girl 6x6 patterned papers. And as a final touch, I added some Crystal Stickles to glitz things up a bit!

I continued the sentiment onto the inside and did some other stamping as well with Lawn Fawn Fresh Lavender ink, which you can check out in the video. Click the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch it there in HD, and don't forget to like and subscribe! I so appreciate it!

Thanks so much for stopping! Have a great day!

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - July

Howdy, pardners! Today I'm super excited to bring you the July edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! The minute I saw the new Birdie Brown Saddle Up & Celebrate stamp set, I knew I had to use it! When my boys were little, they were OBSESSED with the TV show The Dukes of Hazard, and used to run around with cowboy hats and boots shouting lines from their favorite characters. These cute images took me right back to that place.

I colored my images with Copics and trimmed them out with the matching dies. Then I wanted to create a desert landscape for my cowboy to roam around in, so I used the CloudDrifts & Hills, and Grassy Edges stencils along with some Distress inks for a sunset scene.

Then to break that up a little bit and add another fun element, I cut the Happy Birthday Block out of some Grout Gray Cardstock, popped all the letters out and popped it up over top with foam tape.

I trimmed out my sentiment with one of the Blueprints 29 Die-namics and adhered that across some of the letters in a way that enables you to still read the cutout saying.

I also did some fun stamping on the inside, which you can check out in the video. You can find it on MFT's YouTube channel, or click below! Please be sure to hit that thumb's up icon if you enjoy the video, and leave me a comment! I love to read your encouraging words.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Jurassic Fun Fold - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #33

Hey friends! Today I'm bringing you a super fun card for our latest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge: Fun Folds! This card was totally inspired by the recent movie Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. My boys and I are huge fans of the entire series, and after returning home from the latest installment (so good!), I just had to make a dino-themed card. But dinosaurs are BIG, right? So I needed space to do my scene justice. I knew a Z-fold card was the way to go.

The great thing about the Z-fold card, is that from the outside it forms a complete scene in and of itself. If I'd really wanted to, that could have been a card right there. But who wants to have just a little fun when they can have a whole lotta fun! Am I right?

So I stamped my images from Critters From the Past, colored them with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my focal panel, I folded a 4 1/4" x 11'' piece of pale blue cardstock at the 5 1/2'' mark to form a standard sized card. Then I simply scored the front panel at the halfway mark of 2 3/4'' and folded it back on itself. Then I die cut a continuous piece of kraft cardstock with the Stitched Mountain Borders, scored and folded it in the same places to match, and adhered them together.

To finish off the scene, I added a few cooled lava caps to the mountains, some Spring Showers clouds, and my dinosaurs, of course. I used some Copics to add a sandy texture to the ground to give my dinos a place to stand. Finally, I adhered my Everyday Sentiment Banner to the top right corner.

This card is so much fun to play with! Opening it up to reveal those two secret half-panels just brings a smile to my face every time.

1 Set 4 Ways Episode 4

Hey friends! Happy Monday! Today I'm bringing you Episode 4 of my popular series 1 Set 4 Ways. I created four cards using the adorable Hello Bluebird Pig Day stamp set.

The images were colored with Copic markers during The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I trimmed them out with the matching dies, and kept them in a little dish on my desk until I was ready to use them.

I also pulled in accessory images from Puddle Play and McGregor's Garden, such as the ducklings, birds, and veggies.

I stamped my sentiments on the kraft strip with Lawn Fawn Walnut ink, using a different sentiment on each for the most variety.

Then I played around with my images until I was happy with the arrangements, and then adhered them down to the focal panels with the Glue Tube.

For my patterned papers, I chose the Doodlebug Down on the Farm 6x6, which I thought went perfectly with these sweet piggies. I chose five patterns and tried to use similar strips on each to tie them all together.

I also did some fun stamping on the insides, which you can check out in the video. Click the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch it there in HD, and don't forget to like and subscribe! Your support means so much.

Thrilling Birthday - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #32

Happy Monday, friends! It's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge, and this time we've got a fun color combo to inspire you! I decided to pull out Coaster Critters and do a boyish birthday card.

I colored my images with Copics and trimmed them out with the matching dies. For the focal panel, I trimmed out both light blue and white cardstock with the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frames, and added my images using a combo of foam tape and glue tube.

On top of my Moonstone card base I layered some Perfectly Plaid Spring 6x6 paper trimmed down with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables. Then I added my focal panel on top with more foam adhesive for added dimension.

On the inside I did some fun stamping with Moonstone ink, which you can check out in the video below. Click on the YouTube icon to watch there in HD and don't forget to like and subscribe!
