Watercolor Goldenrods

Hey everyone!
Today I've got a technique to share with you on how to create
really simple, practically fail proof watercolor floral scenes.
I created this card using the Sheena A Little Bit Scenic "Silhouette Garden"
stamp set from Crafter's Companion and Distress Inks in shades
Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Ripe Persimmon, Bundled Sage,
Peeled Paint, Tumbled Glass, and Salty Ocean, as well as some
Distress Markers in Pine Needles, Peacock Feathers, and Faded Jeans.
I also added a sentiment from the new Vintage Floral "Verses" set.

I hope you enjoy this video and get inspired
to try some super simple watercoloring of your own.

Have a great day!

Live The Life You Dreamed

Hello everyone!
Today I want to introduce you to an awesome new
sentiment line from Crafter's Companion called Vinage Floral.
It includes four stamp sets, six embossing folders and a CD ROM.

For today's card, I've chosen to showcase a sentiment from
the Phrases stamp set, as well as a beautiful butterfly from
colored with my Spectrum NoirsTB5, TB9, IB2, IB3, EB5, and EB7.

I hope you enjoy my card!

Together Forever

Hey everyone! It's been a whirlwind of a week
after returning from my annual writer's conference
in Lancaster on Sunday evening.
But I had such a fabulous time! Hated to see it end.

But end it did, and now I'm back with you all
sharing another card -- this one using the adorable
I've been playing with my Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils
and man, are they delicious! I love the soft, blended look they give.
Here I've used shades: 112, 113, 119, 120, 89, 9, 41, 36, and 62.
Just a handful of colors, but I love the results.

I hope you do too.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Lady & The Tramp: Lawnscaping Challenge #82

Hello! Welcome to Lawnscaping Challenge #82
sponsored by the wonderful Lawn Fawn!
Lawn fawn is offering up a FREE stamp set to our winner!

Here's my card:

So as soon as I heard that the next challenge was Distress,
I knew I wanted to create a beautiful night sky.
And while pondering what to put beneath it,
I had a flashback to one of my childhood favorite movies:
Disney's Lady And The Tramp.

These two sweet pups from Critters In The Dog Park
were pretty much perfect to make my inspiration come true.
I painted my background with Distress Inks in Salty Ocean,
Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord, and Black Soot
and the hill with Shabby Shutters and Chipped Sapphire.
Then I watercolored my pups with Distress Markers
in Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Weathered Wood,
Stormy Sky, Black Soot, Barn Door, and Fired Brick.

It seemed like it was missing something to finish off the scene,
so the final step was to freehand a row of distant trees
with Pine Needles and Black Soot Distress Markers.

I breathed a sigh of relief that I hadn't ruined the card ;)
and added a sentiment from Lucky Stars and called it a day.

I really hope you like it!

Birthday Soccer Boy

Good morning!
Today is a special day -- it's my hubby's birthday!
And special days call for special occasions, right?
And special occasions call for special tools -
a chance to break out the good stuff.
And in this case I'm taking about the brand-new

Have you checked these babies out?
They are super awesome quality and blend like butter.
I was so nervous about using them because I'd never tried
coloring with pencils before, well, not since grade school anyway.
But these Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils
are just that -- so blendable they do all the work for you.
With just a few colors you can achieve such a soft, pretty look.

For today's card I used pencils #7, 8, 85, 88, 94,
119, 120, 23, 62, 64, 77, 45, and 49 and I especially love
the hazy blue glow I achieved around the image.
I've never been able to achieve that smooth depth of color with markers.

The image I used was the Angelica & Adam "Adam",
one of my go-to sets for all the soccer-crazed boys and men in my life.

I hope you enjoyed it!

Let me know what you think about the look of those pencils!

Have an awesome day!

Imagine The Possibilities

Hey there! How are you today?
I hope you're feeling charged up today.
Raring to go.
As if the world were full of possibilities.

It is.

from Crafter's Companion, along with some
and some delicious printed vellum that makes this 10-minute
quick and easy card look like it took much, much longer.

Gotta love that. ;)

Leave me a comment, if you're reading.
They've been a little scarce lately and I'm feeling lonely.

Hope you all have an awesome day.

Lawnscaping Challenge #81

Hello there! Welcome to Lawnscaping Challenge #81!

Today we are being sponsored by the lovely folks at Simon Says Stamp
who have generously donated a $25 gift certificate to our winner.

Simon Says Stamp Store Blinkie photo SSS_09_2103_zpsc2c6b992.gif

For me, this challenge was the perfect chance to play with a set
that I have been dying to ink up ever since I first saw the pre-release --
Lawn Fawn's Critters From The Past!

I created my background by stamping the largest leaf in the set
with Memento Pear Tart and Olive Grove inks,
then colored in my dines, trees, and other scene builders
with my Spectrum Noir markers.

I hope you like it!
