Gorilla Wild Birthday Card

Hello friends, today I've got a fun birthday card featuring the adorable Gorilla from Hello Bluebird Word Buddies Jungle. I recently used him in a comparison video of the four different families of Copic Grays, and that got me inspired to actually use him on a card. I combined him with the branch from Deer Friend and a few accessories from Greetings Bear. I colored the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I wanted to do an ombre pattern in green tones, so I blended some green Distress Oxide Inks onto Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. At the top we have Rustic Wilderness, then Mowed Lawn, and at the bottom Bundled Sage fading into the white. I did some splatters of all three shades, and then also some coppery spatters with Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. I adhered my images and added a strip of leafy patterned paper down the left side to give it that jungle vibe. Then I finished off with a sentiment and some Stardust Stickles.

Wizard of Oz Card - Lawn Fawnatics Feature

Hey friends, today I'm over on the Lawn Fawnatics Blog with another card for our Inspired by a Book, Movie, or Song Challenge. Since my favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz, I decided to recreate an iconic scene in the film, when Dorothy's house fell on the Wicked Witch of the East. I combined a whole bunch of sets for this one, including Bicycle Built for YouCritters Down UnderButterfly Kisses, and You Are Sublime. I used a whole bunch of other products too, which I'll have included in the post and listed below the video on YouTube.

G.O.A.T Birthday Mini Slimline - Lawn Fawnatics #121

Hey friends, it's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This time we're bringing back our popular Inspired by a Book, Movie, or Song Challenge. As soon as I saw the new You Goat This stamp set, it reminded me of a favorite childhood record, The Adventures of Bernie the Billy Goat. So I knew that was the card I had to make! I combined images from Hay There and Party Animal, stamped them all in Jet Black Ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background I cut down a panel of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock with the Small Mini Slimline Stackables and used the Cloudy Stencil and some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink to create a sky. I stamped my sentiment across the top. Then I cut down another panel with the Slimline Picket Fence Border and left it white, and a third using the Slimline Grassy Hillside Border, which I sponged with Twisted CitronMowed Lawn, and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Inks.

I created a mini slimline card with some Sticky Note Cardstock, then cut down a piece of Gotta Have Gingham Rainbow 6x6 paper with a Large Mini Slimline Stackables and adhered that to the card.I glued the focal panel over top, added the images, and finished with a bit of Stardust Stickles.

Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things - March

Hello friends, today I'm back with the March edition of Christy Gets Crafty with My Favorite Things! This month I was drawn to the cute Dinos in the new You're Ext-ROAR-dinary stamp set and decided to color them in fun shades of purple using my Copic markers. I trimmed them out with the matching dies, and then set them aside to work on my focal panel.

I cut the Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX out of some Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock, and blended on Distress Oxide Inks in Salvaged Patina for the sky, and Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn For the Grass. Then I blended the two green shades onto another panel and added in some Rustic Wilderness to darken up the edges. I adhered that panel to a Limelight card base. Then cut another piece of Limelight with the Leafy Layer Cover-Up. I glued that to the background and popped the focal panel up with foam tape, and then adhered my images to finish the card.

Party on the Farm Birthday Card

Hey friends, today I'm back with a more in-depth coloring video featuring the Hello Bluebird Party on the Farm stamp set and the Farmland 6x6 background stamp. This is a card I've wanted to make for a really long time, so I'm so glad I finally did it! I started my coloring the background and images with my Copic markers and then trimmed the images out with the matching Party on the Farm dies.

Other than the coloring, this card was pretty simple to put together. I trimmed the background down with a Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and adhered it to a Noble Fir card base. I adhered my images with Bearly Art Glue, then added some details to the party hats with a White Gel Pen and some Stardust Stickles.

I included the entire coloring process in the video tutorial. To check that out, click below or watch on YouTube. Berry Happy Birthday - Lawn Fawnatics #120

Hello friends, welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This round is all about celebrating the birthdays in our lives. For my card, I just had to use the new Berry Special stamp set to create a strawberry patch scene. I stamped the images in Jet Black Ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the focal panel, I cut a Large Cross-Stitched Rectangle Stackables out of Kraft Cardstock and added some Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink. Then I used the Grassy Border to cut some Cilantro Cardstock and defined the top edge with Mowed Lawn. I stamped a sentiment on the bottom with Noble Fir Ink.

I created a Ballet Slippers card base, and layered on some Flower Market 6x6 papers that I trimmed down with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. Then I popped up the focal panel with foam tape and adhered my images. I finished with a sprinkle of Sparkling Clear Sequins filled with Hibiscus Stickles.

Art Journal with Me #3 - Look on the Bright Side

Hello friends, today I'm back with my March spread in my Art Journal. I've been busy, busy, busy lately so this beaver theme seemed appropriate. I used papers from the Ciao Bella The Gift of Love 6x6 pack and added in some Washi Tape and Ephemera to build my background. Then I blurred the lines with White Gesso, coated the page in Clear Gesso, and added some color with Iridescent Gelatos.

I also added in a little tidbit from my life, a piece of a postcard from the Georgia Aquarium that I picked up on my recent vacation, which I talked about in the video. I love making my pages extra personal by including bits of personal ephemera. Then to add a bit of sparkle to the page, I spread some Lawn Fawn Fairy Dust Stencil Paste through the MFT Card-sized Confetti Stencil in the top corners. I finished with a title using the Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers and some Gansai Tambi Starry Colors splatters, and of course, a Date Stamp in Ranger Archival Black Ink.

As I mentioned, in the video I talk about my recent vacation to Captiva Island, Florida, and also some heath issues that I've been facing. I hope you'll grab your supplies and craft along with me, or just hang out and chat. Thanks so much for watching!
