Art Journal with Me #23 - Great Things Take Time

Hey friends, today I'm squeaking in my November Art Journal with Me video before the month is over! This month I brought back the technique of using paper napkins as the focal images in my Square Watercolor Journal. Aren't those owls so sweet? I combined them with a bit of patterned paper from the Stamperia Garden of Promises 8x8 pad, which had a very similar color palette. I thought the two worked really well together.

If course, I also added layers and texture to my spread with washi tape and other bits of vintage ephemera like tags and tickets. For my personal items, I included a tear off ticket stub from a basket raffle I attended with my step mom this month, and also a receipt from purchasing an old typewriter at a thrift store. It's always nice to add those little personal touches.

I really hope you guys enjoy the video! It's almost an hour long, so be sure to grab some craft supplies and craft along with me! Or if you just want to take it easy, make yourself a snack and a drink and come hang out. I can't wait to hear what you all have been up to this month! 2023 Holiday Card Series #8 - Lawn Fawnatics #161

Hello and welcome to a new Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! This one just happens to be one of my favorites of the entire year: Holiday Critters! So much fun! For my card, I decided to pull out the sweet Winter Birds and added in a little bow from Baaah Humbug. I colored the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with their matching dies.

For the focal panel, I took a piece of Bristol and blended some Distress Oxide Inks over the Birch Tree Stencil, starting with Pumice Stone, then adding in Hickory Smoke, and the tiniest touch of Black Soot. I trimmed it down with a Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables and layered it with Barn Red Cardstock, then popped it up over a piece of Knit Picky patterned paper on a Speckled Eggshell card base.

The sentiment I white heat embossed onto another scrap of Barn Red Cardstock and trimmed down with an Everyday Sentiment Banner. Then I popped that and my images up on the focal panel with foam tape and finished off the card with a bit of Stardust Stickles.

This is also Day 8 of my 2023 Holiday Card Series so I hope you will check out the video and see how this card came together! Hello and welcome to Day 2 of Previews for the Hello Bluebird Christmas/Winter Release! Today my card features the super darling Cup of Cheer stamp set, along with some trees from Holiday Littles. Aren't they just so cute? I colored all the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I cut out two snowdrifts from Bristol Cardstock using the Hill and Dale dies, then blended on Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink. For the sky, I took another piece of Bristol and blended on the Cracked Pistachio with Lucky Clover and Pine Needles. I added in some Gansai Tambi Starry Colors and some white paint splatter snow.

All of these products will be available TONIGHT November 17th at 7pm MST (9pm EST) in the Hello Bluebird shop and I will also have a complete overview of the release on my YouTube channel later today. Hello Bluebird Previews Day 1 - 2023 Holiday Card Series #5

Hey friends! Welcome to Day 1 of Previews for the Hello Bluebird Christmas/Winter Release!   My card features mostly die cuts and a teeny bit of stamping but no coloring whatsoever, which really makes for some quick and easy cards. This one showcases our new December Post stamp set, along with the Candy Cane Lane and Postage Frame dies.

I wanted this card to be super bright and cheerful, so I die cut my elements from various shades of cardstock in red, pink, green, and white. Then I cut down two of the stamp shapes from the center of the Postage Frame die and stamped on those in red and green ink. I also threw in a bit of chunky glitter and some Stardust Stickles for some texture and sparkle.

We will be back tomorrow for Day 2 of previews, leading up to the brand-new release tomorrow night, November 17th at 7pm MST (9pm EST.) But for now, if you want to see these sneak peek products in action, check out the video tutorial, which is also Day 5 of my 2023 Holiday Card Series! You can find the entire playlist for this year here. I will also have a complete overview of the Hello Bluebird new release on my channel tomorrow, so make sure to stop back for that. I hope you enjoy the videos!

Fawny Holiday Week + 2023 Holiday Card Series #4

Hey friends, I am so excited to help kick off Fawny Holiday Week today! All week long, the design teams of Lawn Fawn and Lawn Fawnatics will be coming together to share so much fun and festive holiday inspiration with you on the Lawn Fawn blog. It's going to be amazing! There will be a video tutorial each day (look for mine on Friday!) and a daily giveaway too. You won't want to miss it!

For my card, I could not wait to play with the brand-new Little Snow Globe: Dog stamp set! I fell in love the instant I saw it and knew I had to use it right away. I combined it with images from Furry and Bright and Joy to All, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies. Since I was creating an interactive Reveal Wheel card, I also used the Reveal Wheel Templates: Little Snow Globe: Dog to help me line up those images correctly.

I knew that I wanted to create an indoor scene, so I die cut the Reveal Wheel from some Favorite Flannel 6x6 paper, then cut out the window with the Reveal Wheel Little Snow Globe: Dog Add-on. I also used some Light Brown Woodgrain Cardstock for the floor and a strip of white for the baseboard. Then I assembled my reveal wheel, adhered it to a Speckled Eggshell card base, and added a sentiment from Pawsitive Christmas. I finished with a bit of Stardust Stickles.

This is also Day 4 of my 2023 Holiday Card Series, so if you'd like to see how this card came together, click below, or find it here on YouTube. And don't forget to like and subscribe! If you missed any of the previous videos, you can find the entire 2023 Holiday Card Series Playlist here to get caught up! Thanks so much for watching! See you back here soon!

2023 Holiday Card Series #3

Hey friends, today I'm excited to bring you Day 3 of my 2023 Holiday Card Series! This MFT Gnome for the Holidays was one of the sets I was most excited about using this Christmas season. I just think these images are so sweet! I stamped them out in Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink, colored with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

Next I chose four different prints from the DCWV Down the Chimney 6x6 patterned paper pad. The snowflake I trimmed down with the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables and added a Simple Stitched Hillside Border. I stamped my sentiment at the bottom in Plastic Flamingo Ink. The other three prints I trimmed down with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables and layered onto my card front. Then I finished with a bit of white gel pen details and some Stardust Stickles.

If you'd like to see how this card came together, click below or watch it here on YouTube. And if you missed the first two videos in this series, you can find the entire 2023 Holiday Card Series Playlist here. I really hope you enjoy it! 2023 Holiday Card Series #2 - Lawn Fawnatics #160

Hey friends, it's time for another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge. We're revisiting one of our most popular challenges with a Christmas twist: Inspired by your favorite holiday movie or song! My favorite holiday movie is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. That's the one I have to watch every year to get in the festive mood. I decided to recreate the Reindeer Games scene by mixing a bunch of different Lawn Fawn sets, including Simply Celebrate Winter CrittersHo-Ho-HolidaysSnowball FightYeti or Not, and Over the Mountain Borders.

I stamped the images in Jet Black Ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies. Then I created a card base out of Blue Jay Cardstock and blended some Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink over the top and edges to create a night sky and splattered on some Dr. PH Martin's Bleedproof White paint for stars.

I adhered all the images with liquid glue, building up lots of the little brick walls to build one large one for my strip of reindeer to stand behind. Then I stamped a sentiment at the bottom right in Lobster Ink and finished with a bit of Stardust Stickles.

If you'd like to see how this card came together, click below or find it HERE on YouTube. Craft Room Tour!

Hey friends, today I'm sharing an updated Craft Room Tour with you all! I first shared my craft room when we moved into our home eight years ago, so I thought I would do an update sharing what is still working after all that time and what I've changed to better suit my needs. All of the furniture in this room is from Ikea, starting with my desk, which is an L shape, and the first thing you see when you walk into the room. The longer section under the window is where I do all of my crafting.

My favorite tool in my craft room is definitely my Copic marker collection, so that is right in front of me at all times, organized in rainbow order. I also keep a calendar on top with my filming schedule to make sure I never miss a due date on a project or a video upload. I also have a bunch of plants -- succulents and cacti -- on my windowsill, which is scattered with little nature trinkets that I pick up on my travels to keep me inspired.

The curve of the L is where I keep my desktop computer where I edit all my photos and videos and also do some writing. I'm currently working on a short story collection just for fun. I also have my inks stored at this end and some extra markers that I don't use as often. I keep a planner off to the left with all my important dates written in, from projects to birthdays to doctor's appointments. I also have a bullet journal and a small sketchbook for when I get the urge to draw.

Across the room I have two shelving units. The one in the corner stores everything from my handmade cards, to cardstock in rainbow order, to my unpublished novels printed out in binders. I also have more houseplants and decorations up top. To the left of that, taking up most of the wall is my stamp and die collection, along with my die cutting machine. But it really is hard to get an overview of my craft room from just the pictures, so I hope you will enjoy the video! I go into things in a lot more detail, including opening drawers and my closet. Ack! I really hope you all enjoy it! Thanks so much for watching!
