Best Fishes - Lawnscaping Challenge #109

Hey friends! Welcome to Lawnscaping Challenge #109! I know it's been a few weeks since I last posted - things have finally been moving ahead with the home we're building and I've been swamped in all those details. But I had to take a break and get crafty for our Sparkle and Shine Challenge! 

I started out by watercoloring my background and sea critters with Distress Inks. I highlighted the new Fintastic Friends set by Lawn Fawn but I also threw in the cute little octopus from Critters In The Sea. Just look at his smile now that he's surrounded by all those happy, bright colored fish! 

Since our challenge is to Sparkle and Shine, I misted everything with some Glimmer Mist, which you can see a little better in this photo. I also added some Sparkling Clear sequins by way of bubbles.

Ella's Unforgettable Birthday

Hey friends! Today I wanted to share another card made with the adorably sweet Mama Elephant Ella & Friends stamp set. This is still one of my most favorite stamp sets that's released this year. I think I could make 100 cards with this set and never do the same one twice. Just so many options!

Let's Party - Lawnscaping Challenge #108

Happy Monday, friends! I'm here today with Lawnscaping Challenge #108: Stars and Stripes. Whether you choose to pay tribute to the upcoming July 4th holiday or just use those stars and stripes as a fun graphic accent, it's up to you! I chose a bit of a minimalist approach, choosing to interpret the challenge in my patterned paper. The Lawn Fawn Petite Patterns: Beachside 6x6 papers worked perfectly for this card. I paired it by using the cute new set, Party Animals, and watercolored it with my Distress Markers.

Spot In My Heart Pop Up (video tutorial)

Hey friends, happy Saturday! This morning I just wanted to share a card that I made yesterday using a bunch of the new, cute Mama Elephant stamps and dies. I'd been in a bit of a crafting slump, but these new goodies inspired me to play. I used Playful Pups, Small Talk, one of the Grassy Trio, and of course the Pop Up Trio because I just had to make a pop up card.

While I was at it, I decided to go ahead and film it so you guys can see how the whole thing came together. Click the YouTube icon at the bottom right to view it there in HD and please don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe. It really means so much.

I'll be entering this in the Mama Elephant June Challenge: White Space, even though much of my "white space" is actually aqua. I think it still represents the minimalist spirit of the challenge. :)

Love You Tons - Lawnscaping Challenge #106

Hello! Welcome to Lawnscaping Challenge #106! This round we are all about stretching ourselves and trying something new! That's the ultimate challenge, don't you think? Stepping out of your comfort zone and just going for it?

The technique that I'd been wanting to try was the increasingly popular no-line coloring. And let me tell you, friends, it is harder than it looks! But definitely worth it in the end. The end result has such a soft and pretty quality to it. I combined the big elephant from Lawn Fawn's Critters In The Jungle with one of the little elephants from Love You Tons.

Enjoy Your Day - Lawnscaping Challenge #105

Happy Monday, friends! Welcome to Lawnscaping Challenge #105: Watercolors! Watercoloring just happens to be one of my most favorite techniques so I am super excited to help bring it to you for our next challenge. 

Since I hadn't had a chance to use my Lawn Fawn Let's Play stamps and dies yet at all, they were definitely calling my name. And my favorite image of all in that set is the squirrel, so I decided to make him the feature of my card and give him a couple friends. Scribbling Distress Markers on an acrylic block and picking it up with a damp paintbrush is one of my favorite methods of watercoloring, so that is what I did here. I tried really hard to make it look like a beautiful cloudy day on my background and ended up being really happy with the results. I hope you like it too!
