Shadow Box Pond Scene - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #27

Hey friends! Welcome to Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #27. This time we are all about creating 3-D cards! So fun! I decided to try a Shadow Box for the first time, and was surprised by how easy it came together!

Ever since the sneak peeks of the previous release, I knew I wanted to combine the ducklings from Rub-a-Dub-Dub with the pond scene elements from Toadally Awesome. Today seemed like the perfect time to do it! So I watercolored my images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and cut them out with the matching dies.

I die cut two panels out of some pale aqua cardstock with the Shadow Box Card die, and added a window in one. Then I stamped a sentiment on the back in Merman ink while it was still flat and easy to do. The assembly was super quick and easy. I used Scor-Tape so there was no drying time involved either.

I decorated the sides with Perfectly Plaid Spring 6x6 paper, and adhered my images inside with mini Glue Dots, layering them throughout to add depth to my scene. To finish it off I added a Grassy Hillside for my back bank, and a cloud from Spring Showers.

If you'd like to see how this came together, I have a video tutorial! Click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch it there in HD and don't forget to like and subscribe!

A Few More Deer Friends

I hope you all enjoyed my Hello Deer card from yesterday, because I have two more versions to share today! I was having so much fun coloring these images, tweaking the color combos on everything from the deer, birds, squirrel, flowers and leaves. I just had to turn them all into cards!

Even though I kept the backgrounds and the layout fairly similar, I made a few variations on placement of the die-cut images. Birds are always a fun image to change things up with because there's so many places they can go.

But if you look closely, you'll also notice subtle differences between the two in the placement of the flowers, mushrooms, and even the deer, which is more centered on this card. And of course, I gave each one a different sentiment. I love the mix of typewritten and handwritten fonts in this Hello Bluebird set.

I still have two more card to share in the coming days using the Deer Friend stamp set, but don't worry, they're completely different. I hope you guys are enjoying these images as much as I am! Thanks so much for stopping back today!

You Are So Deer To Me

Hey friends! Welcome back! Today I've got a sweet card to share using another Hello Bluebird stamp set. I have totally fallen in love with their images! Deer Friend is one of my favorites, because I adore woodland critters, and especially squirrels!

I had so much fun coloring up these images with Copic markers. In fact, I've colored enough images to make five cards so far! I'll be sharing a few more in the coming days, most likely on Instagram, since I didn't film any of the others. Sometimes it's nice to just color and listen to music, and not have to worry about editing and uploading a video later. Although I had to film at least one!

After all that work coloring the images and trimming them out with the matching dies, I wanted to create a simple, pretty background that would showcase them well. Something that looks like I spent a lot longer on it than I did. My favorite way to do this is with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I scribble them onto an acrylic block, then pick up the color with a paintbrush, and create a wash. It takes almost no time and has such a pretty glow!

Check out the video if you'd like to see how this whole card came together. You can click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right corner if you'd like to view it in HD, and don't forget to like and subscribe! I sure appreciate it! Thank you so much for stopping by.

Showers of Love - MFT & Friends April Release

Hey friends, today I'm excited to bring you a very special post! My Favorite Things is starting a brand new feature on their blog called MFT & Friends, and I'm thrilled to be taking part! Today the design team and lots of crafty friends (like me!) will be bringing you tons of inspiration using the brand-new April release.

The minute I saw the Puddle Jumper stamp set from Birdie Brown, I immediately fell in love, because I felt a personal connection to the image, which I'll relate in the video. I colored him up with Copic markers, and added a few accessory images from Rain or Shine to set the scene.

I created a stormy distress inked background, then cut a cloud out of the top right corner with the Cloud Shaker Window and Frame Die-namics and filled the Cloud Shaker Pouch with Sparkling Clear Sequins and chunky glitter. I trimmed down my focal panel just enough to allow a little strip of Calm & Cozy Chevrons pattern paper to peek out the bottom. Then I stamped my sentiment directly on my card base so that it would show through the shaker window. I adhered the panel to the card with Scor-Tape, and popped my images up with foam tape for that added dimension.

I also continued the stamping on the inside, but I'll save that for the video. Click the YouTube icon at the bottom right corner to watch it in HD, and don't forget to like and subscribe! Your support means the world. :)

Now please head on over to the MFT Blog to find the complete list of everyone participating in this fun, new monthly feature. I can't wait to see what everyone else has created! I just know you're going to be blown away!

Reverse Confetti April Blog Hop

Hello there! Welcome to the Reverse Confetti April Blog Hop! This month the theme is Moms & Dads, which is perfect, because my good friend just became a mom for the first time! Her baby girl is just a few weeks old, and I thought would be super cute to add a handmade tag to her gift bag.

I colored up the sweet mom and baby koala image from Bear Hugs with Copic markers, and decided to take a playful approach with my color choices pulling inspiration from both the bag and the patterned paper.

This colorful leaf print from the Under the Umbrella 6x6 pad was a spot on match, so I die cut that with the medium sized Scalloped Squares Confetti Cuts, then die cut it again from the gorgeous gray print from the Fun Times 6x6 and replaced just the center to pull in that color from the mama koala. I die cut my images with the matching Bear Hugs dies, and tucked the flower behind mama's ear to make her feel pretty. ;)

It's a cute, little homemade detail that I know my friend will appreciate. And now it's time to check out what the Confetti Crew, and my fellow 'Fetti Friend have to share with you today! Happy hopping!

Comic Strip Card - KWCardDesign Collab

Hey friends! Today I'm so excited to be a special guest for the fifth and final day of my dear friend Kari's Lawn Fawn Week! We're doing a collaboration using a new Lawn Fawn stamp set combined with an older set. I chose Hay There and Critters on the Farm and decided to make a Comic Strip Style Card using the Peekaboo Backdrop.

I colored my images with Copic markers and created fun little backgrounds for them to live in with the Stitched Hillside Borders and the Little Picket Fence Border. To finish off the card I added a sentiment using the Everyday Sentiment Banners.

I loved how quick and easy this was to make, once the coloring was done. And now my mind is brimming with ideas for more Comic Strip Style cards! To see how this one came together, watch below, or click on the YouTube icon to view it there in HD. And don't forget to like and subscribe! I sure appreciate it!

Also, be sure to check out Kari's video for the collab! And if you missed the series, you can go back and watch it from the beginning here. Did I mention there are prizes? You can find all that information in this video.

I hope you all enjoyed our collaboration! Take care, and have a great day!

1 Set 4 Ways: Episode 3 - Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #26

Happy Monday, friends! Are you all recovering from your sugar highs after Easter yesterday? Lol! I hope you had a good one! Today I'm bringing you something just as sweet -- not just one card, but FOUR! We're creating card sets for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #26.

A friend of mine had been asking me to make her some kitty cards, so I pulled out Meow You Doin'? and got to work! I used a bunch of different dies to cut out my patterned papers, including Large Stitched Rectangle StackablesLarge Stitched Circle StackablesSimple Stitched Hillside BordersSmall Cross-Stitched Square Stackables, and Stitched Party Banners.

I colored my images with Copic markers and die cut them with the matching dies. Each focal panel was assembled similarly, using one of the cats, and three accessories.

I wanted each card to be unique and able to stand alone, so I used a completely different layout for each with my patterned papers. But I also made sure to include enough similarities that they also work together as a set, by using the same stamp set, patterned paper pad, the same shape, size and color focal panel, and the same color card bases.

On the inside of the cards, I stamped a different cat and accessory on each, but used the same sentiment, all in Merman ink. If you'd like to see how that turned out, you can check out the video below. ;) To finish things off I added a few Sparkling Clear Sequins.

To watch the video in HD, just click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right corner. Don't forget to like and leave me a comment! I really appreciate your feedback and support!

Now please head on over to the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog and check out the other amazing design team samples! I can't wait to see them myself! I bet they're fantastic! And link up your card sets to play along for a chance to win! I love seeing all the creations you all come up with.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
